OK, it was my first real drive after spending six months and a small fortune rebuilding my motor, rear suspension and restoring my engine compartment. Last night I went to DQ in Clarkson, parked my car and go to the order window. I notice the car behind mine backing out so I keep my eye on it. Then the unthinkable, BANG. I think she pushed it a couple of feet. To top things off, the person tried driving away. I had to chase them down to the end of the driveway to stop them. The lady driving said that her daughter in the car told her she hit the car. So why would she try to drive away? My bumper was pushed in. I'm going to take it to Rock's on Monday for Rocco to take a better look at it and make sure there is no damage done that I can't see. Is the colour red really a magnet for trouble ?

Stu, I am sorry to hear that. At least you caught that B! Many times these things happen and when we get back there is no one to be seen.

Good ol' Rock will make it better. Good luck and hopefully it isnt that bad.

Oh, that must have taken restraint to keep from bawling her out - if nothing else - for teaching her kid to avoid responsibility, just like dear old Mom. I'm glad you caught up with the irresponsible driver & hopefully will be able to have amends made - ugh, this is a nauseating situation for me to even comprehend.

To have hit you is bad enough and that would have ticked me off. But to have the stones to drive away as if nothing happened and play stupid, she would've tasted my verbal diarreah!!

Then again, had she gotten away and you had noted her license plate, (in Quebec) it would be considered as leaving the scene of the crime, and this b*tch would then have had to deal with the cops.

Im sorry to hear of it, please tell me at least you got some type of money out of her? If you didnt, remember you were on private property, and your insurance company will have to foot the bill, unless you can get her stuff and a written letter on a napkin she was the cause. If you dont, when you go through insurance, she will say she didnt hit you, it was you. Then the insurance companies will say, it was private property. You maybe stuck on your own on this one my freind....I hope not. let us know how it turns out.

Damn dairy queen....I go thier often.

    Stu,

Sorry to hear about your incident. But I had a very similar incident. I parked in front, or in back, of a huge SUV. She ended up with her vehicle nose out of the parking spot. And I actually thought I was safe when I parked because all she would have had to do was put the car in drive. But Murphy's law kicked in and somehow, she backed up!

When I got back to my car, the nose was badly dented. I was so pissed off. The reason being that aside from my damaged car, there was no one around. I went back into the store to ask about security cameras. When I came back out with the manager of the store, I see a huge SUV coming up to us. The driver actually went home to get a notepad to leave me her info.

Her excuse, "It's a new car". I was flabbergasted. "NEW CAR???!!!". Screw the new car! Did she just learn to drive yesterday???!!! D is still Drive and R is still Reverse the last time I drove an automatic. What an idiot!!!

    Good luck,

    Manny
