Just though you might be interested to know that this Saturday from 6-10 at the Texas Motor Speedway, they will allow you to drive your personal vehicle for a couple of laps around the 1.5 mile track for a $25 donation.

You can go to www.texasmotorspeedway.com for more details.

you have to follow a pace car, depends on the driver, the average speed is usually about 50-60 mph. If you are lucky to be in the front, you can slow down a bit, bunch up the field, then go fast for a bit to catch up to the pace car.

and the pace car is typically a truck or a van.

get in the back of the formation if possible to get a gap in there. it will only be one, maybe... and I do say maybe, two laps.

Website says 3 laps. Doesn't mention how fast you can go.

Or you can sign up for the Panoz driver events in either October or November where you can let em rip on turns 1, 3 and 4. Much more fun. Last time there were only 15 of us and we covered nearly 100 miles in a morning with some well disciplined competetive jousting in the true PCA tradition.

I'll pass but thanks anyway, I've got an SCCA autocross event the following morning at Pennington Field.
