A couple of people have contacted me asking as to what is happening with any events. I have told them that Tillman keeps a posting of things that are going to happen and have happened.

So I got to thinking, what about a short run and then lunch. If anybody is interested I was contemplating just reruning the 2nd toy run. This puts us up in the Denton area and with a bit of modification to the run we can end up at Sneaky Pete's. Is anybody up for this. It would probably be next Saturday Oct. 11th and we would meet in Frisco to start say about 9:30 or 10:00.

    WHO'S ON BOARD?

    Sounds great!

    But I'm in Tunica.

    Thanks for getting things started.

I'd be interested in a run, has been too long. Sadly, am not sure when my car will be running again.

If only I knew somebody with a few spare 512M's. ;)

NASA club race at Eagles Canyon next weekend. There will be at least 3 of us racing 355 Challenge cars. Maybe you should do a rally that direction and then watch the race. I will be posting a thread.

Count me in! Everything Mr. Rose does is first class, including his circle of friends. The weather should be fine for a change, so let's not miss this opportunity to hobnob with Dallas' elite. It's always fun to see which one of Don's portfolio of Ferraris he'll be driving.

I can be there if it is an early morning to lunch run on the 11th.

Mai was just asking why we never do any Ferrari meetings any more.

I blamed it all on Tillman.

Last I checked Tillman's term as FCA DFW president ended December of last year and Jon Ward took over. The annual meet in DFW looked like a great event and was 90% the work of Diane Glaser who unfortunately isn't in Texas anymore. I know Jon organized a fine dining event a month or two back, I haven't heard of any other events and I'm still a FCA member.

We've organized a few events from this section, the Exotic Car Nights put on by Ron & Stephanie was the largest we've ever had. I did a Fine Dining at Ferraris in Grapevine earlier this year plus the Boardwalk show. Frances did another Fine Dining. Brian has continued scheduling the alternating monthly lunches and happy hours.

I was hoping Jon would continue a full schedule of FCA DFW events and I also hoped that other individuals would continue organizing fun events without much prodding and poking. Both Tillman and I are out of the business leading the organization of DFW area Ferrari events. There is simply a leadership vacuum and committee approach doesn't appear to be working well.

I joined the Italian Car Club of Southwest last month.

That was exactly what I had in mind when I said "I blamed it all on Tillman".

I just didn't feel I had been around the groups quite long enough to speak it out - and have not ever been a member of the Ferrari Owners Club.

I especially miss the little ad-hoc things that happened once a month or so last year. They seem to have quieted down pretty noticeably here lately.

Aside from all the monumental postings, do we have an event here or not? Forget about the ones who can't make it, how about the ones who can? Your chance to rub elbows with some of Dalllas' finest citizenry. No one is that busy that a couple of hours on Saturday can't be made to happen!

It looks like there are some conflicts for this Sat. Besides Tillman put up a post for lunch in Muenster and there appears to be more 'excitement' for that event, so I think I will defer to the following Sunday.

EVENT CANCELLED for Saturday October 11th!

I think we are all very lucky to have Rob, Tillman, Stephanie, Brian and Frances who have the dedication and ambition to plan all the events for this area. They all deserve a big round of applause!

Yes, the Italian Car Club. Great organization, Carolyn and I join two years ago.

Well, heck, if you-all need something to do that involves driving somewhere, come to our RoadRallies. A few of your members have entered in the past....if they are listening, maybe they will tell you it's fun! They usually take about 4 hours out of your day, and cover some roads you might not have been on.

The next one is November 8th, Saturday, for our Night Rally. From Richardson north into Collin and Hunt counties, or so I hear. Should be lots of fun. Enter 3 cars, and compete for the Team Trophy!

    The flyer is attached.

We do this about six times a year, and you are always welcome.
