I heard it in the store while shopping for the big screen. The Sony "Home Theater in a Box" systems are pretty decent, and this is 10x better than them.

If you arent inclined to spend a few k on a surround sound system, this is an excellent alternative.

Its no Denon, but it defiantely does the job, and well. Not the greatest at max volumes, but so long as you dont sit the volume all the way up, youll be fine.

I have an earlier model 'DreamSystem' and for the money, you can't beat it. It can't come close to a true (and more expensive) home theater system, but it gets the job done. Max volumes isn't super loud, and a bit of distortion comes in at the highest vol levels, but if you are on a budget and have a fairly small room in which it will go, I think you'll be happy. Kind of like the Honda Accord of home theaters...nothing too sexy or breath taking, but does the job it's intended to do at good price.

Thanks for the replies. I don't need theatre quality sound in this room, or anything to loud as I am currently in an apartment, just something that sounds good for the money. As of right now this is the route I will most likely go but am still open to suggestions.

onkyo hts770 has 1000 watts and has better bass, etc, etc. it always gets top reviews from cnet and home theater mags. check it out. it is cheaper but it has to have wired speakers for the rear.

I just bought this system a couple of weeks ago. I am no sound system expert, but I needed wireless speakers, and this system sounds really good.

I am happy with it, but like I said I don't know much about other systems. Don't pay $995. I paid $750. Good luck, I think you will like it.
