Is anyone familiar with the Sony e-Reader? My boss just got one, and .... well... I'm impressed... Anyone aware of a down side? (batteries dying too quickly, lack of ruggedness, limited availability of reading downloads, etc.) Mike in Kuwait
I've had one for around a year and a half. I travel quite a bit and it's been great. I think there is another thread around here comparing the Sony ebook to the Amazon Kindle. My wife has the Kindle. I like the Sony better for it's size and battery life. It lasts around two weeks on a charge. Also, Sony's ebook store just added thousands of public domain books for free. Hope this helps.
Kevin, Thanks for the response... my main concern was battery life...and you addressed that well, thank you! (I was having IPOD flashbacks...) Mike in Kuwait
I wonder where Dr. John Gober went??? Sent him a PM as well... no response.... Anyone know him? In contact with him? Mike in Kuwait
A cheap way to get the Sony ereader is to sign up for their credit card. They sold me the ereader for $49 when I signed up and I did a balance transfer at 0% for a year. Paid it off before the year was up and haven't used it since. You may want to check their site for current specials. Hope this helps.
