Did you not just call it pre-bidding? Hmmm, you certainly did... I'm afraid I'm not "serious" and probably don't "know whats up". I have never followed a single Copart auction in my life and only vaguely new about the site from seeing it mentioned on other forums. Again - if you 'know whats up' why not share? I like to learn new things. >8^) ER
Current = pre-bid price is $230,000 Auction goes live Monday 19th at 12pm (EDT) lot # has not been assigned yet could be lot # 1 or can be one of those cazy lot # 2040=4000 ones, sure the owner can chime in on what lot # it is .
if your planning on sitting around for this it can be a quick one or a very long wait untill the auction lot # goes live. should get an idea Friday what the lot # will be or early monday morning. best of luck to the winning bidder. just FYI who ever is bidding on it co-part has some crazy hefty fees on late payment so hopefully someone isn't waiting on a wire. heard somewhere on something like 80k there is like a 10% late fee and if a bidder flakes its like 10% of the final sale price = ouch !
item #1142,,about 100 cars in and should go off in the first 45mins to 1 hr,,car is being sold as a ''non-run and drive'' so it might not even run, could be a seized eng or tranny
#1142, that is going to be wayyyyyyyyyyyy down there but for those watching it can go from 1-80 and then jump to 1000. seized engine ? always works wonders . Image Unavailable, Please Login
Funny timing, I was watching Chasing Classic Cars tonight and they tried that on a '30 Rolls Royce. I think at first the mechanic wasn't sure if he could say the name on camera so he called it the "blue can".
actually ,it goes from 1-49 then 601,821,851,852,876 then 1101-1193,so 1142 is about 100 cars and it usally goes 75-100 cars per hour,[i buy /fix and sell cars for a livng],and all cars arn't sold as-is,some are sold thru companys with warrentys, and there are run and drives, engine starts, junk, bill of sale, clear title, salvage title and several other types of cars/trucks/boats/motorcycles/snowmobiles,etc being sold ,in some citys and other countrys there isn't a wholesale dealer auction and those vehicles are sold thru copart and 5-10 major auction centers in the world,,i hope this helps to clear-up how an auction works,i can go into more detail but i hate to type
It would be VERY rare for ANY car on Copart to be sold with warranty. Only case I would see is a lightly damaged newer vehicle with a clean title and still under factory warranty. Obviously, ANY vehicle with a parts only, certificate of destruction or salvage title will NOT have a warranty. Seized engine or tranny? It may be possible, but I seriously doubt it. The car did NOT fall off of a truck, it was being driven until the idiot hit the curb & sideswiped the tree. I think common sense would tell us there was NO damage to the car during the accident that would cause a seized engine or tranny. That much should be obvious. More than likely, the car was not started because there had already been ONE major screwup with this car and nobody wanted to risk anymore finger pointing. Just my opinion.... I'll be watching along with everyone else

So who's the big winner? Jeffrey - are you going to have a crack at building that F50 GT road version? >8^) ER
Interesting to see, time will tell ! I think a road version GTis the most sensible option for this car, it will never get away from its past. So why not make it something interesting, provided the repairs are not compromised, and corners are not cut. Would be great if it was purchased by a fellow fchatter and made a thread like jim has with the p4/5. Unless of course jim is the lucky guy..........................
I had a feeling that it wouldn't go for more than $350k So now the question becomes is it going to be restored or used for parts?
I highly doubt it will be used for parts. If $340K is in fact the final price then my prediction wasnt off My second prediction is that it was bought by a client in Asia and it will be rebuilt into some crazy road & race car EDIT: $340K
wait you talking about the :"Hi, I'm Wayne Carini guy" The angry guy at the auction who listed a customers car and didn't sell for the price he wanted ? OHHHHHHH!
