An infraction of what? No disrespect, but I'm dense. :-D An SUV trying to best a Ferrari is just a hilarious mental image...
A few weeks ago a young man in a badass Mitsubishi EVO apparently waited for me as I am on my way from the shop to the interstate. As soon as I passed him he shot out of nowhere and was on my tail. I was in my Twinturbo 911. The onramp we were approching I have taken many times a day for the last 20 years in any car imaginable. It's a 90 degr. right then a sweeping left and a 120 deg. right. He was on my tail turning in and then I never saw him again. I came around the last turn at 110 and then quickly slowed down as to not interfere with the public. About half a mile up the road he pulled up to my left, rolled down his window and bowed down to me and then gave me 2 thumbs up. Now that's a good sport. That was a first for me, ever. Karl Troy
If you don't have someone jealous of you or hating on you, you're probably not doing something right ;-) Fact is, you have a car that represents a lifestyle, success and achievement. That individual in the MDX sounds like someone who is frustrated and wanted to stick it to you. I'm don't think I would have floored my car, there just isn't satisfaction for that. Pretend like he's invisible and go about your merry way.
I do remember chasing a TR into turn 1 at CMP in my Excursion tow vehicle at a Ferrari event. Not as delusional as you may think, lol. The picture was actually on Fchat for a while until it misteriously disappeared.
Is flooring a car on an on-ramp an infraction? What is the CVC? I really think this is not an infraction. Is there a law against acceleration? I understand about the max speed thing but how fast we get there? I'm just curious. I think I've been living a life of crime for over 30 years. Should I turn myself in?
Somebody commented that what happened was a crime. I said that it was not a crime (speeding) but at best an infraction. Kai
Of how many retarded SUV drivers try to "race" me. I don't get it. These are the same SUV's that will be upside down in the near future. They should put little wheels on the roof you know.
Yes, you should turn yourself in. Law enforcement authorities everywhere are looking for you. There is a reward. Please mention my name so that I may claim it. We will use it to offset the storage charges. You may store your seized vehicle at my house during your stay at the Big House. This generous offer is extended only because you have expressed remorse for your heinous behavior.
I think you should have chased down the MDX, got him out of his car, and beat him within an inch of his life. There just isn't enough elimination of the weak genes in modern society. Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Who's with me?
I would most definitely have at least done the same thing as the OP. More likely I would have tested the aero on the car onceon the freeway to make sure the jerk in the SUV did not do anything stupid to harm me or my car. That is much of the fun of these things. Being able to just pull away from a car 20 or so years newer is really great, and I think the cars were made for it. Officer Friendly would not agree, but Enzo would! BT
You know that happened to me in my 996TT when a guy in a pick-up tried to overtake me when I was stopped at a light and he was coming up to it fast. I accelerated for fun in a blast to the next light. He leaned out his window and said to me appreciatively, "Hey, you kind of rule the world in that thing don't you?" Um, yessir I guess I do. Actually it embarassed me because he caught me being a P-doosche!
Some people. I had some moron rev and squeak his tires (Civic, what else) while I was in a drive through! I'll tell you about a gracious looser, well really we were both winners. I was headed to a show in my Lotus, which is built to the teeth at about 1700lbs and 450Hp. I ran into a F355 headed in as well. Much to his surprise he wasn't able to pull away from me at each light no matter how hard he tried. And of course I was barely into it and could have walked off at will. When we arrived at the show it was purely mutual compliments and admiration for each others cars. He was not surprised to hear I am in the market for a 355 and I was not surprised that he didn't act like a jerk. Sometimes you get lucky and run into another performance enthusiast and you just have a nice experience.
Another problem with some idiot drivers is when you pass them (at night), they immediately put their high beams on temporarily, even though you don't croud them when you pull back into the lane ahead of them. This hapens more times than not.
