I'v been waiting to get this off my chest for a long time... and here it goes...

WHAT IN GOD'S NAME IS UP WITH PORSCHE DESIGNERS !?!?!

Look at the interior of the 911, Boxster and Cayman (Well mostly the Boxster and 911, since the Cayman is basically a hardtop Boxster) Notice something? Yea, EXACTLY THE SAME! What gives? Are Porsche designers to lazy to come up with a new interior design?

Oh, and don't even get me started on the old (996) 911 and the new 911 (997), today I was reading an article on the new Turbo, and since the car was a prototype it had the sticker on the lights that made them look like 996 lights. As I was yawning, I noticed something, when I blur my eyes, I can't even tell the difference between the 996's and 997's! Notice how when other car companies desguise new models, they are full off darkened, misshaped body panels and cover-up tape, and all Porsche has to do is slap on a sticker and it instantly makes the car look like the older model??? The exact same fact is true for the Boxster aswell !!!

Haha, while I agree. Porsche is famous because their design is so classic and timeless. The 911 body will never change, they just keep modernizing it.

I agree with you up to a point. The 911 shape is a classic shape so Porsche wont mess with it to much but I would have liked the 997 to look a little more different that the 996. The 997 is really no more than a very mild facelift of the 996.

    Its good for one reason:

If you drive a Ferrari, people may not know what it is since they may have never seen your model.

If you drive a Porsche, well, its a Porsche!

I dont know. I sort of wish the Boxster and 911 were more differant in design. But I sort of like them being the same. Its like one big porsche "family" if you will. It sort of gives me a warm cushy feeling inside (LOL)

i guess the management just don't want a repeat of that.even their truck is wearing the 911 face!in other words...
your grandkids will one day pull up to your house in what you swear is a 993!
and they would've bought it brand new for $300k!(er...999 1/2?)

I was hoping against hope that Porsche would go after the top end 3 series. Imagine a mid-size sedan with Boxter engines and 5 seats, to compete against BMW 330 and 335. Instead they are putting out another luxo barge.

I was just thinking about the number thing too. What are they gonna do when they run out of numbers?

I guess they have at least 2 more versions to make until they have to worry about it though..
