    Hey folks,

    Sorry for no F content . . .

I need to utilize the battery power on a golf cart for operating a piece of machinery out in the field . .. . actually a golf robot

I basically need a massive inverter . . . we need a "steady" 115v supply (this is pretty much available off the shelf with the amperage we require) and a 240v supply that would give a 30 amp boost for no more than 1/2 sec . . . this one's the challenge.

If the inverter becomes way too cost prohibitive, I'll probably just wire a switch that will re-direct the battery power to a dc motor running a generator head . . . .

Did some internet surfing and could only find 240V inverters/back up power supplies that were WAY overkill . . . like for entire computer data centers . . . any other links, ideas, or info?

    Thanks,

    Sean

Sometimes old copy machines are good sources of strong powr sources. Maybe take a look at some retailers online who have some replacement parts for sale.

    Good luck

    Peter

BTW - this sounds cool - post pictures if you get a chance

that needs 115 or 240v...it seems obvious that this gadget would be used on the course where no such supply would be available.

www.golflabs.com has a couple of pic's of the machine . . . if you've ever seen an infomercial with a robotic golf machine, it was probably it.

    I think consumer reports also just used one for a ball comparison . . . some pic's in there I think . . .
