....other than Hill Engineering in the UK? I'd rather buy from a USA source. The price from Hill Engineering is 30 pounds, plus 9 pounds shipping. What's that in US dollars, about $65 total?

Does anybody have a "pre-owned" one they may want to sell? (for my 1977 308 GTB)

    Greg in Houston....

You can get one from OG Racing: http://snipurl.com/bi4k

I have installed two of these; one on my previous 78 308 GTS, and one on my current 87 328 GTS.

Two issues; one is that this is slightly larger in diameter than the factory hub, so it looks a bit off (no big deal), but the much bigger issue is that the original factory hub has a milled out section to accept the horn button...the extension does not. So, you will need a Momo horn button adapter, made from stamped steel. These are very hard to get from Momo, or so I am told (they sold for between $10 and $15). FNA dealers used to stock these, as the early TR's used them, but my dealer could no longer order them....Hans (fellow lister), begged for one from Momo and they relented, but normally they only sell them with the hub and wheel combination these days, not seperately. Go figure.

Scroll down on this link to find the Momo wheel hub adapter:http://snipurl.com/bi4t The stamped metal ring is the "reducer" you need to fit the horn button.

I would ask Hill if theirs is milled so you don't need the horn adapter piece, if so, that is a HUGE reason to buy theirs. If not, then you are stuck with either one to source the horn button adapter.

BTW, 39 pounds equals about $76 today.

I bought a spacer from Hill and didn't find a need for a horn adapter of any type. I did have to scrape some of the black coating off the ID so that the contact from the horn switch would be grounded out.

    Momo also makes spacers.

The spacer made the driving position more comfortable for a taller person.

Thanks, guys. Actually, I just ordered a really nice new MOMO steering wheel (Champion model) and MOMO spacer. Should be here the first part of next week.

The spacer is a MOMO part, about 1/2" thick. I hope I can still use the horn button......

I ordered it from RacingLab.com Phil was a pleasure to deal with.....

1/2" isn't much..but I have short arms. ;) The extension really helps for me, as it allows me to recline the seat a bit. It also gives your hands a bit more room between the steering wheel and instrument binacle.

I'll post my reaction to the 1/2" spacer. Sounds minimal to me too, but in that tight cockpit, that may seem like more! (hopefully!).. Maybe I'll have to stack two.....

    Greg,
What was wrong with the stock wheel? Beat up, or not cool enough? The reason I ask is that my stock wheel is pretty beat up and I'm looking for a new one. The cost to have mine re-upholstered is more expensive than replacing it!

Ugh, now I know why you replaced it. I'm looking for a "stock" one. But thanks anyway!
