I have been looking for some Dinitrol 4942 brown undercoating to touch up under my 328. Not really needed, but I thought it would be nice to be thorough and use the original stuff so it will match. Well it seems impossible to import into the USA. Had two different orders cancelled and all the other online sources I found will not ship into the USA. I don't know if it's actually banned here or just too hazardous to ship.

Has anyone found a recent source of this? Plenty of alternatives but if they won't be a cosmetic match I don't see the point since I am really just trying to touch up a couple areas to keep things looking pristine underneath.

Have you checked aviation sites? Many aircraft use Dinitrol for corrosion protection. It may be called AV8. I cannot verify this exactly, but it may offer you a source.

I have found other Dinitrol products on aviation sites (mostly seems to be gentler wax products for crevice/cavity protection) but not that particular undercoating. 4942 appears to be bitumen based with metallic content and is a bit nastier.

I gave up finding an easy source of Dinitrol 4942 here in the U.S. Looking for substitutes, it was surprisingly hard to find brown undercoating (most products are either amber or black). I stumbled on Fertan UBS240 which is a dark caramel color. Not quite the bronze metallic color of Dinitrol, but fairly close. I got a 1 qt can for $30. It brushes on pretty easily and then flashes off to leave a firm waxy matte finish. Painted over clean parts it has a brown color, but over the top of areas where the Dinitrol got washed off by fuel, it ends up bringing it back to an original aged look. So it's a decent substitute. I'll put some pics below (regrettably I did not take a before pic, but the old undercoating had been washed off by fuel leaving a light gray look).
