I told you they were "old school". But what's the problem with sending a key by mail? Do you expect me to fly to the U.S or Australia with a copy of the key and steel the car? Well if that's your concern you could rent a p.o box at your local post office and I will send the keys there - then I don't know your name nor your address. As I said before: This is what I can offer - a little help, because I thought that's what a forum is for.
Elasto, I'd be fine with sending the key I have (on a modern blank) if your locksmith happens to have the Sipea Neiman blank below available as well. Thanks for your kind offer of help. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
@ Peter Tabmov: Sorry, uncut SIPEA NEIMAN not available. @all: anyone else still waiting for an answer to their email? one member asked me to visit the locksmith because he didn' receive an answer yet. it looks like the locksmith isn' really happy about all those inquiries - like I said "old school". He was very happy, when he handed over the key (@ erwin123: PM me your address) in return for cash ......
Simple, the key could get lost in the mail on the way there, or both keys could get lost on the way back. M
just found this on ebay: RARE New Ferrari Dino 330 365 400 246 Vintage Porsche Neiman Ignition Key | eBay looks like I missed a chance to make a fortune .... btw: erwin123 is happy http://erwin400.blogspot.co.at/2014/10/ferrari-400-neiman-key-reserve.html
I really love these cars and maybe I'm missing the point but I don't think I'd pay anything like that for a key. I didn't have spares for either of my cars so asked my friend Dave (who has shoe repairers and does key cutting) to source me some keys. It took him a few days but he came back with perfectly cut and fully working keys for both cars for zero cost (he's a good friend!). Maybe if these cars become worth Daytona money I'll regret not spending the money on a key but until then I'll manage with some cheap imitations.
to duplicate an old key is no act of wizardry. the point you are missing is that I found a locksmith here in Vienna who still has uncut neiman keys in stock (only 3 left). a duplicate of your key will cost you 18 euros (about 22,50 USD) - not 195 USD (or more) - which I think is a more than decent price for an original ferrari key.
Andreas, thank you so much for offering these keys to us here. You're a total gentleman. Mine came over the holidays. I really appreciate it, thank you. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi Brian, you are very welcome and I'm glad everything worked out fine - sorry for answering late, but we just got home from our holidays with Fidel's brother
I just got back from Vienna Austria (i was born there) and i got the last 4 Neiman Keys for the Dino,330,365,400,246,the told me there is nomore anywhere .somehow the old man there there was a demand for them, but he also recalled that the got them for Ferrari long time ago
The had 4 left i just got back fromVienna the are the origional ones i bought them all the are no duplicates ,i will put them on e bay and see what happens 195 US is a good price if you want the origional, and i think the guy in Vienna was aware of that also
In what model where the Neiman keys used,i got the last 4 origional of them i like to know where i should offer them
The Neiman keys posted are correct for Series II 400is....that's for sure. Other owners can chime in.
Thank you is there any other Models where this Key is sorrect,i like to know so when i post them i can also post the Models for that Key,I have 3 left and i would like to sell them for the right Car,there has to be more then the 400i Thank,s for your help
Nice of you to snatch them all up. I guess I won't be stopping at this locksmith's shop on my next Vienna trip.
I don,t have to the don,t have any left i got them all last time i was there, the old man told me the also fit the old Porsches. But he could not remember the Ferrari models but his main customer for these was Ferrari in the late 60,s and 70,s
@ Sigmacars --- Not sure Ross meant that as a compliment. So, what started out as member sharing a great find with everyone so they could benefit, ended with another member opportunistically taking advantage of the situation in order to try to make a fast, and an egregious, profit on Ebay ? how nice
I offered it here in 3diff sections no interrest at all i pay 78.00 euro so i looked on e bay and and there the are $300-500, if you want one send me a PM and you can have one for a bit over cost there is no reason for attacking all i could do is offer them
Elasto, I wish I had found this thread earlier! Hopefully you can find another old time with more key for us all! I would have gladly sent you my key mailing address and whatever you needed to cover your costs! Rob
