Wow, my opinion of him just dropped immensely. Why the heck would he do this? He doesn't need the exposure. Could he be out of money again?

Sources: Steven Tyler To Bring 'Sweet Emotion' As 'Idol' Judge

It appears the rumors are true, and Steven Tyler is gearing up to bring some "Sweet Emotion" to "American Idol."

On Tuesday, E! News reported that "a very-inside source" confirmed that the frontman would indeed be heading to "The Other Side" of the stage - namely the judges' table, where he will serve as a judge for Season 10 of the hit FOX television show.

Additionally, Deadline's Nikki Finke reported that sources close to the rocker told her Steven's "deal is done" for him to join the reality singing competition as a judge.

Access Hollywood too had a source that Steven's deal was done.

Apparently the rocker doesn't "Want To Miss A Thing," as, according to E! News, he finished up negotiations with the show last week.

Beginning early next month, when the judges first meet contestants for "Idol" at the various city audition rounds across the country, Steven will get to judge if singers have "What It Takes" to make it.

Luckily for Steven, his new gig will be sitting down. On Tuesday Reuters reported that the singer fell off the stage again, this time at Toronto's Air Canada Center, after guitarist Joe Perry bumped into him while the band was playing "Love in an Elevator."

No word if the bump happened during the song's lyrics -- "going down."

While Steven is reportedly in at "Idol," it remains unclear who else could still "Walk This Way" over to the judges' table for Season 10.

E! News reported FOX is still considering Jennifer Lopez despite her reported demands for hair, makeup, a styling team and a hefty dressing room. Additionally the network is said to be speaking with several "big celeb names," the website claimed.

Last week, People reported that J.Lo was out of the running due to her reported demands.

Now we get to watch Tyler completely self desctruct on national television.

My suggestion for a judge - William Shatner

This should be interesting. And all of the references to their songs is ridiculously stupid and really bad journalism.

    Tacky, I know!

During these "Seasons of Wither", Steven Tyler has something he can be "The Lord of. The Thighs" on the "Woman of the World" J.Lo, not withstanding. So, if she opens a "Pandora's Box" by sending an "S.O.S., (Too Bad)", she can "Dream On". It's not like they're "Kings and Queens", so the "Train Kept a-Rollin'" without her.

As long as nobody gets "Bright Light Fright", they won't get it "Right in the Nuts" if they get "Spaced" out during their "Same Old Song and Dance" and take a "One Way Street" to a "Night in the Ruts".

They can "Make It" and be "Somebody" and maybe "Mama Kin" will be there, unless she's "Home Tonight" "Walkin' the Dog" out of "No More No More" spite for her "Last Child" with a "Combination" of needing to "Draw the Line" and "Milk Cow Blues". Maybe after they go "Round and Round", she'll remind the kid to "Write Me a Letter" after kid announces they're "Movin' Out" 'cause the proceeds from the "Big Ten Inch Record" result in "Uncle Salty"'s last words being "You See Me Crying" even as his "Adam's Apple" leaves him "Sick as a Dog" before he goes on "Permanent Vacation" when kid decides to bite "The Hand That Feeds".

    etc.

Howard Stern was once mentioned as being considered as a judge...IMHO, he would be the best choice to replace Simon

Does he know anything about music? Anyone can be a jerk, but Cowell actually knew what he was talking about.

In my opinion, this show is on its last legs and they're fanning the flames of this judge selection in the hope that people gain interest again. I'll be surprised if Idol makes it two more seasons, regardless of who the new judge(s) are.

Being a DJ and evaluating/developing music talent are two very different things, in my opinion.

I think the producers lost the plot when they handed Ellen a spot as a judge. Thanks goodness for Britain's Got Talent.

Don't we all evaluate music every time we listen? A DJ has the opportunity to listen to all types of music and note what becomes hits and what fails on a daily basis. So, it seems to me that a DJ would be far more qualified as a judge than a musician such as Randy Jackson...
