Does anyone know of an authentic challenge exhaust available for sale for a 2.7 F355? I am in search of the straight-through system, not the other system which has the small muffler that is next to impossible to find. My mechanic has been in search of a system for a few months now and we have been unable to source anything. I may just have a custom system built for the car. Thanks in advance!

There was one on eBay for the longest time about a year ago. Sorry I can't be of more help.

There is the highest liklihood it will be less expensive to just build it yourself.

Call Ansa in Atlanta. They have a lot of stuff around that is not cataloged, and I am quite sure they were the oem on that piece.

I did not think that the one I heard was really that great, I was contemplating building a replica, I could actually make a much nicer one...

Is there a difference on the mounting or connection for the F355 Challenge Exhaust for the 95 2.7 vs. 97+ 5.2? Can the unit work on either cars?

Per factory part's diagrams, the challenge system is the same part for both the 2.7 and 5.2 cars. I have purchased a genuine challenge exhaust from an F-chatter this week and will be anxious to get it installed. Currently the 355 is running a Tubi and Tubi test pipes. In the next few weeks, we will install the challenge system and replace the upper catalytic converter pipe and bypass valve with a bespoke Y-pipe. I will be sure to post a video of the car after the work has been completed. There really aren't any high quality videos on YouTube that depict this set-up. Should be a screamer! We are currently in the process of converting the car into basically a street-legal challenge car. So far we have installed H&R progressive sport springs and the Speedline challenge wheels. Over the course of the next few months we will be installing an AP Racing big brake kit (front), OMP seats and harnesses, and perhaps even the factory roll cage. We also have our hands on a factory challenge wing.

Have you had time to run the spring to provide a review? If you were on a track before (which one) and how did it improve/react thru the turns, etc...

I've been looking for a rear challenge exhaust as well. I am talking with someone that has one for sale at the moment.

Suspension is key for improving the F355 Steet car, I run at TWS and will be installing front & rear challenge sway bar soon. Right now I am driving stock to understand it's limits before I do any upgrades. Tires, suspension & sway bars should have a major positive effect. Rear wing adds more downforce on twisty tracks. TWS is 2.9 mile track.

PS. Your lucky to have found a Factory Rear Wing!

    Ciao,

    SRR

We have not had a chance to get the 355 on a track; however, we do have plenty of street miles logged on the car after the H&R's. The handling of a 355 is very predicatable; however, I think we both can agree that the stock suspension leaves a little to be desired. The H&R Progessives offer the best of both worlds. They are a completely streetable spring as ride quality is barely compromised, and when you really start to load the suspension you can feel the springs stiffen. The car is a lot more fun to drive in the twisties in my opinion. They are a lowering spring and they definitely drop the car quite a bit. If you don't already have the Hill Engineering skidplates, I recommend installing them prior to spring install if you drive the car on the street. There are quite a few speedbumps, driveways, and parking lots which we have been unable to enter after the H&R install. I am not sure how far we will take the suspension modifications as the car is mostly going to be driven on the street only.

FYI, you might be interested in keeping an eye on the thread I started here about tuning the 355:

If you plan on adding a wing, get the 430 wing instead. Much larger and more effective than the 355 challenge wing, but also requires a front splitter. Wish I had one myself.

Looking forward to the Challenge Exhaust Video with Tubi Exhaust. How much does the Challenge Exhaust weight?

What type of OMP seats are you going with? Are you installing NEW type or USED Challenge type. I like the OMP WRC Carbon but then only come in black fabric? Maybe a red fabric could replace the black? I think the OMP Grip is more like the original F355 Challenge type but, it's not Carbon Fiber.

    ciao,

    SRR
