My 430 has the non hi-fi anemic factory stereo. I would like to keep the head unit and add an amp, 2 rear speakers and a sub. Has anyone here done the same and what type of setup, speakers, etc did you use? And of course who did it for you?

Did you use a factory type enclosure that fits bt the seats or a sub like a bazooka in the trunk. I used a bazooka in one of my 911s and it was great but it does take up the limited space. I think I would prefer the factory type setup. Where would you get such an enclosure?

Can you link an ipod to the factory stereo? Mine is a november 07 build. I suppose I could actually read the manual for that one but since I'm firing off the questions, I figure what the hell?

ONe last thing. PLEASE do not chime in with the "no need for stereo bc of wonderful exhaust note". Believe me. I got that part. Sometimes the wife and I like to actually hear the stereo with the top down. I am not looking to win the car stereo shootout challenge.

I bought an ipod adapter for my old Q45 that plugged into the aux input on the back of the factory head unit. It let me use the CD controls while the aux input was selected to skip ahead to the enxt song, and it charged the ipod at the same time. It had really good sound quality. It was from a company called USA SPEC and the model was PA15-NIS. Maybe there is something similar for the Ferrari. I know there are universal units that use 12v switched power and have RCA outputs that will charge your ipod and allow you to use an aux input, but I don't think they will allow you to use the radio controls for the ipod functions.

Can anybody recommend a good high-end car stereo installer in south Florida...somebody who knows the equipment and is sympathetic to the vehicle's integrity?

    Thanks.

    Jack.

    yes, yes yes

I installed a very nice system and it did not break the bank. I am NOT on my computer and do not have all the model numbers so etc.

    installed
    - amp (in front trunk with a fan and then covered with a carpeted floor to match)
    - new head unit (flip top with NAV, DVD, back up camera)
    - new twitters and mids in the door and a sub BEHIND the passenger seat (covered in leather to match the seats)

in Boca just south of Glades Road and just west of the Tunpike right off the side road. Ask for Billy (the owner) and let him know that Robert with the red 360 sent you. Great guy and does a ton of high high end cars. They also assist any issues at FMFL

ALL this and I still installed a TUBI NGT with Hyper Flow cats and I am VERY glad I did. You can only take so much of the exhaust note . . . . . and those of you that have heard my car, NO . . . . I doooo love the note the Tubi and cats produce. very very F1
