I might need a better understanding here, cause maybe I'm retarded when it comes to Porsches, but a new car sold in the US with a bumper to bumper WARRANTY, means, bumper to bumper. So if the day the car was sold with 01 miles on it, it didn't jump out of gear, and then later with 15K mi it does jump out of gear, then it should be covered under Porsches warranty, and you should have made them pay for all of it.

Again, maybe there's some screwed up kind of warranty that comes with that car, please enlighten me...

If you ever are on 6speedonline, there's a sticky in the 996 section. It'll give you several detailed accounts on how Porsche refused to honour warranty because of reasons such as non OEM shifters put in and track use etc. Ironically alot of the shifters even though they technically were aftermarket, were from the same manufacturer that Porsche got parts from, even carrying the same part number. My car ended up in the tailend of the warranty period so I got assed out because of that, even though the problem was there before expiration. Regardless, Domani at the time sold alot of 996s and I doubt that they were unaware of the tranny problem. Especially considering the frequency of this reocurring problem.

I also have a bone to pick with Porsche who conveniently blamed, what I think was a manufacturing problem with the tranny, on the use of aftermarket parts.
I doubt I'll ever buy another p car either.
