Hey, just seeing if there's any Sox fan's here. I don't want to jinx it now, but let's hope they keep it going tonight. What a ride the past 2 games have been.

That's all I'll say for now. Excuse me while I knock on some wood :)

    GO YANKEES!!!

The Sox are definitely cursed. And the city of Boston just tore down the house that Babe Ruth lived in when he played in Beantown (foolishly hoping that would erase the curse...). I learned that while watching the news up in Nantucket, where there is a heavy Sox fan base.

    GO YANKEES!!!!

Where is Todd Geiger (TTG) to chime in on this??? He's a major Yanks fan!!!

yankees will pull through. theres no curse, its just the yankees and the post-season get in their head. if there was a curse, none of these things you say break it would have an effect. "oh, well the fact that the kid who lives in babe ruth's old house got hit in the face with a foul ball clearly means the curse is erased. and is it a coincidence he went to the game with jerret lowe, who has a brother named DEREK lowe??? the curse must be broken":) sox fans will invent anything to say its the year, in fact, it has been "the year" for 86 years. do you not realize that every F-ing year you guys say "O YEAAAAA! THIS IS THE YEAR!" and yet you still lose? come on.

PS ive not been paying attention, what is this about tearing down babes house? i live in the town he lived and im sure as hell they didnt tear down that house. was there another?

There must have been another. Check the Boston Globe back on 10/13/04 for a headline "Former Ruth House Demolished". According to the brief writeup, "the house at 47 Quincy Street where Babe Ruth's first wife lived...".
    Anyway, GO YANKEES!!!!

lol robbed when he karate chopped arroyo's forearm? that was beyond obvious. the first base ump was blind... he even called a rod safe before he went back to tag the base lol. wtf was that about.

Randy Marsh was shielded by Doug Mientkiewicz and could only see the ball come loose, not the fact that ARod slapped at Arroyo's glove. The safe call was that he hadn't been cleanly tagged as a result of the ball coming loose, not that he had reached the base safely. Al Leiter's comments concerning this during the broadcast were inaccurate.

he still wouldn't be safe though. i dont know what the proper call should have been or if he should have even made a call yet?

The short answer to this one is that he needs to make a call as to whether the tag has been made and whether the runner is out or not so that the Red Sox are aware of what their next course of action should be (e.g. - throw home to try to get Jeter or try to get the ball to first before ARod- since at that moment no one could know that the ball was going to roll all the way down the line). The safe call ensures that blame can not be put on the umpire for not making a call and as a result potentially impacting the game as a result of how the Red Sox react to the lack of a call.

Confusing? Yes, but the umpire had to call ARod safe at that moment.

Hopefully with a few days rest the Sox will be ready to go. At least they aren't wondering where they will be playing. The logistics of trying to get ready to go to two different cities just adds more stress. Waiting to see who is coming to you is a much better option.

While it benefits Boston this year, I would still rather see the team with the best record getting home field versus the All-Star game thing or the prior system of rotating home field between the leagues every other year.

    Go Sox!
