i thought the cards were supposed to be good? this is so weak. i can tell this is going to be a terrible off season. bring on spring training already, the yanks need another championship.

The Red Sox are the only worth while item to come out of Massachusettes in a long time. I am glad for them.

I am very happy to see them win. They haven't won since 1918 (when Babe Ruth was traded), so its good to see them finally break a 90-year-old curse. :)

They made the Yanks look like biotches and Cards look weak. Know why? Pitching. Yanks and Cards don't have it, Bosox did and now they are the champs.

The Yankees are in a tailspin;bloated payroll, ageing stars and depleted minor league system;that's why they couldn't get Randy Johnson since the Yanks had nothing to offer the D'backs. How the Yankees could not have a lefty starter in that rotation with a $194 million dollar payroll underscores how bad the Yankees are;all $$$ and no brains. The Yankees big solution is to get Beltran. How's his ERA?

I think Torre is a good manager but the way his team made history shows how grossly over-rated he truly is....

I have now officially forgiven Bill Buckner for the Little League error he committed in Game Six against the Mets 18 years ago. Now go forth and sin no more...

While I would have much rather had the Cardinals win, there is also a part of me that liked to see the Red Sox win, if for no other reason than to end the talk of the stupid Babe Ruth curse.

Now the White Sox and Cubs need to win so those curses go away (Wait, as a Cards fan did I just say I hope the Cubs win?)

The Red Sox pitched better, ran bases better, and had hits when they needed them. They flat out-played the Cardinals and deserved to win. IMO, the Cards didn't come in ready to play for games 2-4, and their pitching just got worse as the series went on. Boston played like they wanted it more, not unlike the Pats/Rams superbowl a few years ago.

What's with the cuts at Torre? He's a great manager, let's not forget that Steinbrenner and Cashman are the ones making the big decisions here. You don't think Torre said we need better pitching? Brown was a mistake to pick up. He's obviously not up to what he was. You're right, it has a lot to do with the Yankee pitching, but the talent is there. Let's not forget that El Duque is a great pitcher, he was just over used during the season, Mussina is another good pitcher, he just needs to be consistent. Lieber and Vasquez have the ability, they just need some experience under their belt. If anything the Yanks should get rid of Brown and pick up Beltran.

Another thing, the Yankees had the opportunity to close out the BoSox series twice just that Rivera blew the save. Which is EXTREMELY unlike him.

I should be happy for the Red Sox, I mean I saw history right? It's just too bad the Yanks couldn't get their bats or pitching together when they needed too.
