Wife and I are traveling to Scottsdale in March. Need some good, first hand, recommendations on a spa/resort. Looked at many online, but nothing like hearing from the locals. I did an F-Chat search, but only found info. on the Boulders. Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

The Sanctuary in Paradise Valley is fantastic. Very hip and comfortable with great views, great food, and a great spa. It is about 3 miles to downtown(old town) Scottsdale.

Do you have any specific interests (Golf, shopping, etc.)? Preference for big resort versus small place with southwest flavor?

Thanks, guys! Really appreciate the heads up. Interests are; not alot of kids, privacy, great food, nice spa, nice pool, places to go spend lots of money on retail therapy. Don't mind spending the money if the place is worth it.

You might consider the Arizona Biltmore. I was there last week, and while I didn't really take advantage of many of the services (my main purpose was the RM auction there), it seemed like a terrific all-around place.

The Hyatt Gainey Ranch (Great location - central Scottsdale) has a brand new spa, 27 holes of regular (non-desert) golf, tennis and access to all of Scottsdale's attractions within minutes. It also has a top rated restaurant, Vu, which I can highly recommend, especially if you enjoy Kobe beef.

The Boulders in North Scottsdale has a great spa and incredible desert scenery, also two great golf courses, but really way far north of town.

The Fairmont Princess is a great resort with the TPC of Scottsdale (Phoenix Open) as its golf course. Excellent Spa, world class tennis center. Also great restaurants in the hotel.

The Westin in Kierland is next to Kierland Commons - great shopping and restaurants, as well as Kierland golf course.

Lots of others choices in the Phoenix area, but I like these, as well as the Biltmore which someone else has already mentioned. The Biltmore is in Central Phoenix, a few miles west of Scottsdale.

I tend to lean towards the older resorts, so Bob's recomendation for the Biltmore suits me also. May I also suggest the Royal Palms.

I've never been to Copperwynd but it is in Fountain Hills so I would not stay there unless you did not plan to leave the property. All the good food and shopping will be a nice drive. You might try the Hermosa Inn, it's not a spa but a nice little place that stays under the radar and is close to the Camelback Inn, Biltmore, Royal Palms, and Sanctuary where you can get great spa services.

Hey, wanted to thank you guys for your input on this. We have decided to split our time between 2 places; Westin Kierland for several nights, then onto The Phoenician for the remainder. Looking forward to visiting your neck of the woods~
    Thanks again.
