Cool animation of the space station coming together http://www.tietronix.com/anim/MoviePlayer.asp?myMovie=movies/assembly640x360.swf
Here are some overview sites. http://www.shuttlepresskit.com/ISS_OVR/index.htm http://www.projectview.org/ISSOverview.htm Somewhere it mentions that the planned living and working pressurized space is 1716 cubic yards. That's equivalent to a 5800 sq.ft. house (with 8 ft ceilings) or 3 x 1930 sq.ft (avg American) houses. I suspect, like old-time sailing ships, most of the space is shared/multi-purpose/work space and private space is limited to a very small berth.
