always thought it somewhat a waste just to let it burn up, too bad it couldn't have been added to the ISS.
That would probably be too intelligent for Senate. Don't you just love the way they made the Russians sacrifice the Mir, then the US builds the ISS & halfway through the US decides its too expensive & that it will now abandon the ISS as well & concentrate on racing the Chinese back to the Moon Way to go DC, You pack of A O's
Read the book "Dragonfly" if you want to learn about the Mir, and the US missions to it. Fascinating stuff, and amazing how close to the edge that thing was operated. The US astronauts who went to Mir were an interesting group, as well-- I guess even the astronaut corps has to have a top 10% and a bottom 10%!
Way too expensive & ineffiecient for that, Remember the boobs that built it are all Govt & they dont care about making $. They steal it all & call it tax. This is probably the most realistic plan for a space hotel that is already well on its way into existence http://www.popsci.com/popsci/aviationspace/e08989c49db84010vgnvcm1000004eecbccdrcrd.html here is Hilton's plan http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/293366.stm Heres a plan for a hotel on the Moon http://www.space.com/businesstechnology/technology/lunar_hotel_010719-1.html
