Musk has very little to do with SpaceX besides Manning the helm. It's Gwynne Shotwell who is really making things happen. Be glad she has her full attention on just SpaceX. No politics. No X nonsense.

What he has done with X is not a bad thing…

But yes. He needs to keep them separate

Starship survived re-entry (with damage) and allegedly performed landing burn and splashdown. :)
    >>> on-board view of control flap breaking apart, nearly burning off during re-entry. Severely damaged but it held on.

As a casual observer, I'm amazed at the rapidity of development progress made with this program. Was it Musk who said, basically, "You have the blow s*** up to make progress". Also seems like that booster production has evolved into commodity assembly line mode. A fully re-usable Starship, with the drastic reduction in cost of payloads into space, will likely be the most impactful technological development of the first half of this century.

I would say that was a very impressive test indeed! Great to see all this bleeding edge science out in the wild.
    Congratulations Space X.

    WOW.

Just an observation, the graphics presentation during the flight by SPACE-X makes ULA/NASA look like amateurs. Oh wait, the entire SPACE-X organization makes ULA/NASA look like amateurs.

yeah. I really like the engine on/off graphics. Separate booster and starship . Showed 1 booster engine out at takeoff.

What a load of crap. Sure redundancy is great. But success should be rewarded too.

The video that SpaceX offers on these flights is incredible. The launch looked like something from a gaming console.

Strong hints that they will try to catch the booster with the launch tower on next flight.

Flight 5 due to launch in about 1 hr.
Could be first try at catching the booster
    https://www.youtube.com/live/YC87WmFN_As?feature=shared

We’re currently camping in TX hill country 4 hrs from Boca Chica. Once these starship launches become more regular will definitely drive the RV down to Brownsville to watch one in person.
