Hot staging separation  ...... notice the 3 center engines on Starship gimbal after separation.

SpaceX has aggressive plan for Starship in 2024 with more than nine launches
    https://www.teslarati.com/spacex-starship-plan-nine-launches-2024/

9 seems like a lot at this time.
Next launch should be 3rd or 4th week in March. Right now they are only allowed a launch schedule of just five attempts per year. Soooo, let's say they do more than 5, and less than 9. ;) :D

The reusable upper stage is a game changer. Huge military applications nobody talks about, too.

They want to maintain as much momentum as possible at stage separation. Not a new idea, BUT, they have to be careful they don't damage the reusable booster.

yeah, and hopefully they will really pick up the pace after this launch. :) Plan is to test out the Starlink satellite payload door.

My theory as to why the Starship was lost on reentry today is that the venting seen during the coasting period depleted the propellants. That led to an uncontrollable situation and the ship was lost. That's probably why the restart of the Raptor engine wasn't attempted.

Regardless, they got what they needed from that flight. Next one will go all the way.

Super Heavy BOOSTER (1st stage) engines did not appear to relight. :( >>> Falcon 9 boosters land about twice a week, so I'm sure that will get fixed. ;)

STARSHIP (2nd stage with flaps) was loosing a LOT of heat shield tiles. I wonder if it broke up?

    STARSHIP RE-ENTRY
Heat shield tiles start shedding at 2:55 ....... Plasma build-up at 4:00

Couple appeared to briefly light off, but then nothing. Agree they will solve this issue quickly.

Heard that mentioned by the Space-X guy. As we learned with the shuttle it only takes a small area to loose TPS to compromise the structure. They may also learn that they need greater coverage of the TPS. Alum goes to **** real fast as the temp increases.

But all in all very exciting to watch. Hats off to Musk and Space-X for doing things their way and being successful. This is what aerospace was like in the 50's and early 60's. Damn the torpedoes and full speed ahead. Test, test, test with real structure, no simulation.

That's why Starship is made from stainless steel. A few tiles can be lost without burn through. Of course, there's a limit there.

A lot of the credit for SpaceX success goes to Gwynne Shotwell. She runs SpaceX.

For the Starship.. at the end of the video feed it almost looked like it started rolling or flipping? Having no more propellant would make some sense

For the super booster... the grid fins were working, but didn't get engines to relight? Did it hit the water at full speed? Or did they self-destruct before impact?

Seems like they should be able to recover wreckage from both?
