Any of you space guys have any thoughts on SpaceX successfully putting the Dragon capsule into orbit and then recovering it today? Seems like a tremendous achievement to me.
Don- We have worked with them in the past, mainly their propulsion. Took some time to get Falcon 1 going but Falcon 9 has been one success after the other, using upgraded versions of the Merlin engines from the single engine first stage Falcon 1. They have contracts with NASA for services, and those look like they will pay off. In case you did not know Elon Musk, owner of SpaceX, is the same guy building the Tesla electric sports cars and a soon to be introduced sedan being built in California.
