Live timing from Friday Practice 1 is on right now. With < 30 minutes left, MS has the fastest time of 291 kph in sector 1 and suprisingly enough Albers has fastest time in sector 5 of 317 kph. Alonso just showed a 43.3 in sector 2 compared to MS with 31.2 in same sector. MS has only done 4 laps and is in P2 behind Zonta - .132 and de la Rosa in P3 .618 back. Now < 15 minutes left at yipee !!! . . . P1 is MS followed by NH, de la Rosa, Zonta (stop), DC - oop's now it's P1 NH, MS, de la Rosa < 10 minutes to go it's de la Rosa with a blistering 1:15.675 followed by CK, NH, MS, DC. RZ (stop), VL. Rubens did 2 laps with no time as did Alonso. Webber shows not to be on track at all thus far. KR just moved up to P5 behind MS.

Should definitely be an interesting second practice and fantastic racing weekend. I still think de la Rosa should be the 2nd McLaren driver! Wonder who or what "Whinny" will blame for his lackluster return performance?!? Will have to catch practice 2 at work.

    Can't wait for Sunday!!

Looks to be a good race, although BAR Honda appear to have failed to sway FIA into letting them run. I also noticed they haven't mentioned filler cars, so I am guessing it'll be 18 on Sunday.

Practice 2 - de la Rosa still numero uno! Hope that Ron Dennis is really paying attention to him!!! Still no Webber - wonder what going on in the Williams camp??

Who knows what settings everyone is working on but second practice doesn't appear to be as exciting as the first.

Again, proving to be a VERY interesting race.

(Does seem strange to see no BAR names on timing.)

at this rate there will be only 3 teams in it come the end of the season,

trying to make it competitive and banning team/s is a good way of promoting the sport!!!!!!!

What happened to Montoya? He was really holding that left arm still after the wreck!

just been looking on f1.com. I am still new to F1, but it is early days yet. I assume they are in the erarly stages of preparingthe car/s for the track. The Sat Qual/Sun Qual is where it counts.

Interesting seeing where the Renault's are though.

JPM did a fine job of converting the McLaren back to semi-kit form. de la Rosa was tops in practice - that ought to send a message to the McLaren-Mercedes higher-ups. Toyota did well too. Heidfield takes a 10 place grid penalty with an engine change.

I think Toyota and Red Bull will do better this week-end. As for Ferrari....hydraulic problem for RB.
Also this is what MS said after the 2nd practice session.."Our performance today did not look very promising".
    Hope they will improve tomorrow.

A lot of sandbagging, as usual. Wouldn't be too concerned. However the hydraulic issue bothers me: Sounds again like gearbox related.

The tires aren't the only culprit.
