This is fantastic, I very much appreciate your time on it.
UPDATE/FYI on the airbag light on my dash. Here is info on how to deal with the CPOD and airbag light and here is a useful thread on the topic https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/posts/149858669/ Hopefully this spares someone the aggravation I went/am going through I went to the Ferrari dealer this week for my brake cap recall and got some very interesting information. I wish I had done what Lorenzo did, this is definitely the best solution. This is what I found out: The US model ECU (which is in our cars when we get them in the US) looks for a CPOD sensor in the passenger seat. If one is not connected you will get a solid airbag light on the dashboard. So, I put in a European ECU which does not look for the CPOD sensor and you'd think, voila, right? WRONG! Don't know if this is common practice, but apparently Ferrari stores the passenger airbag serial number in the airbag ECU, so when I swapped my ECU, I broke that relationship - airbag light on the dash. The new EU ECU had no airbag information in it. Lorenzo put a CPOD sensor in his passenger seat, put his original ECU back in and everything was fine, no light as all conditions were met in the ECU. I was reluctant to crack my seat cover open for fear I could not put it back properly and thought, I'll just get the dealer to reset the airbag light when I do the brake recall (not realizing what was going on). So the dealer cleared out the error condition, explained this all to me, unfortunately, now I have a blinking airbag error light which basically means 'waiting for information'. They cleared out the error condition, but now they need my original ECU serial number, and the serial number on the airbag (so they have to take that out), they have to enter all the info and cycle the system and all will be proper, sadly, they want $1200 to do this. Once that gets done, then my car will work like an EU car, will not look for a CPOD (which I'm not complaining about, never liked it) and will not have a dash light.
I read through all yall’s posts about the SRS when replacing your seats. Trying to learn and make a plan for replacing my seats. I just pulled the seats out of my 2007 and was surprised to find that there was no sensor plugged into that plug at all… and I’ve never had a dash light.
Removed electric Daytonas and installing recaro sportsters. On the bottom of the passenger seat I do not even see a place for that plug to go to.
