Is anyone ordering with these? They appear on a video about a reporter taking a car from Belgium back to the factory. I've heard from some people that the Sparco seats (not necessarily those on the 599) are very uncomforatble, because they contain little padding. In the video, the driver says that after 5 hours of driving he is very comfortable? Good idea, or go with the Daytona's? Steve
Steve, In the 308GTS for track days and daily beater driving i have the Sparco Roadster and they are quite comfortable. My waist size is 32 inches and they do fit upwards of 36 inches. The padding is quite good and can easily be replaced or traded for other type as it is held on with simple velcro. Of course seat comfort and how a seat fits YOUR body is a personal thing. Best bet is to find a local Sparco dealer and try a few seats.
AFAIK the seats on the 599 are made by Recaro not Sparco. there would appear to be no "different shape" option. All the seats are essentially the same chassis, but with Daytona and Electric/Memory options.
Depends on the seat. I've sat in Sparco Milano's on multiple 4 hour long trips and they are very comfortable.
Per my previous post, to my knowledge the existing Ferrari race seats are NOT available on the 599 in the US. Only the new Recaro seats which *look* like they are race seats. There is no "comfort" seat like the 612. The race seats which were availble on the 360/430/575 were all the same and were made by Sparco. Incidentally those are comforable - I did 9 hours in my CS following the US GP.
I think I was mistaking the seats I saw in the video for Sparcos. There out to be an option to outfit the 599 for track days with proper seats and harnesses. Steve
AFIK, there is only one seat with the 599, it is a CF backed "race" style seat with power adjustment. It has harness slots in the backrest similar to the race seat offered on the 360/430, but is otherwise different.
