Will am OEM spare for a 360 also fit my f430 spider? I found a 360 spare on ebay but can't find any sellers of F430 emergency spares. I need some peace of mind when running my car on I495 which seems to have the mother of all potholes (actually more than a few) as one approaches NYC from Long Island.

You can actually get a brand new one for a F430 at Ricambi. Part number 262001.

I still have my spare from my 360. It does not fit my 430 with CCB's. Apparently there is no spare for 430.

There is a spare for the 430 with CCB's, it is the same spare as fitted to Scud/16M's.

    eBay item:

I have a never used OEM 430 spare rim( no tire) that is NOT BEING USED for steel brakes.
I bought the kit from the factory for my 430 but the rim would not fit on the 16M with CCBS
The tire is the same size and available anywhere…

Thanks Gents. I don't have CCB'S. should I assume that the bolt pattern on the 360 spare works fore and aft on my F430? Of course I can always just par full freight at Ricambi if necessary.

IMHO spares are a waste of time. First you need to get the tire off the ground. Unless there is a specialist micro type wheel jack forget it. No normal wheel jack will do it. Second by the time you screw around, take it to the shop wait around or whatever, you might as well get a taxi go to work, get the car flatbedded to a tireshop, and pick it ready to roll.

Not at all if you take your car into the country like I do. I have a holiday property 300km's up the coast and the 430 loves going up there if I am meeting the family up there!
I have a simple scissor, screw type jack which lifts the car in seconds, a "spare in a can" tyre inflator and tyre plugs and insertion tool, which I have used on another car tyre once, succesfully. Also have a footpump (and the Ferrari supplied fix-it compressor thingo-which I bet doesn't work. It can stay in it's nice little holder).
When your hundreds of kilometres from a flatbed you need to be prepared when you hit that pothole that wasn't there last time. I have bent 2 rims so far.

If you have the proper Ferrari spare you also have the proper jack.

Lets see, about 100 miles out of Vegas at 2:30AM and you hit a cinder block and blow out the right front tire in the middle of the desert and oops no spare. You wait until 4:15 until a few tow trucks arrive to pick you and the other 3 cars that also hit that cinder block. They tow the car an hour to the nearest town and by then its 6:30AM SUNDAY morning. No place to get a new tire for your car, so at 10AM when they open, you rent a car and drive the remaining 4 hours home. On Monday, you find a place in that town that can do the tire but they dont have the right size tire, so you borrow a friends right front tire off his car and drive the rental back and swap tires and drive the car home. Now instead of being home at around 6AM on Sunday after some fun in Vegas, its Monday night before you can relax AND you missed a days work, all because you didn't have a spare.

A spare is NOT a waste of time if you are prepared with proper tools.

Ok I concede it may come in handy in the US with its potholes, man the budget squeeze must mean the roads are really bad. Here in New Zealand we just don't have those problems, even all our rural roads are made of kevcrete, a new composite material. Plus we are never further away than 500 metres from the nearest trained sheep so assistance AND comfort is never too far away.

Probably a dumb question, but where do you put the regular wheel you just took off the car?

I just looked at the Ricambi part. Is that almost $4500 for the spare kit USD? Seems expensive if so considering a full size rim and tire is not even half that. I was thinking of getting one now.

Just blew out my passenger front tire for the 2nd time (last one was couple years ago) a couple hours ago. Figured late May was safe enough to take the car out after the bad winter. Obviously not. Didn't see the pothole before, during or even after I hit it. Hoping the rim not bent or any other damage. Less painful the 2nd time around!

Nothing like a pothole to ruin a Memorial Day drive in the country. Since the dealer is closed the flatbed didn't want to leave it in their unsecured lot outside. However somebody is watching over me this time.

Blew it out right next to a farm where not much else was around. The owner came running out and loved the car. He was so excited to see it and told me he saw me come by in the morning on my way out. Turns out he is retired but still is a racing instructor for Porsche Schools and a huge car fanatic. He let me keep it next to his barn for the night until the flatbed comes in the morning. Was also kind enough to offer me his hydraulic jack and huge air compressor but my tire was cut on the side bad. Also offered me some beer :) Very nice guy and so hospitable. Wish I always broke down over there.

I told him once she's back on the road I'll swing by and let him take it for a spin. Just not in the direction of the pothole up the road from him.

    Until tomorrow....

I carry either a temporary spare that I bought on eBay or sometimes even a full size front wheel and tire when I go some distance. I have 2007 spider with steel brakes and a front rim will fit on the rear with steel, but not with CCB's. I also carry a Ferrari 430 jack and a decent torque wrench with the appropriate soft socket. Flat tire is either put into a really large plastic bag (which I got from Porsche, think 911) and goes on front seat or locked to a tree with a long bicycle cable lock for later retrieval. Too many potholes in NY to go without a spare.

Picture is of a front wheel mounted on the rear. Car is still up on the jack a bit.
