I can't see a good angle on what the spare looks like- looks kind of weird in the picture though.

This is the wheel in question. Optional 'space saver' spare from factory. Dont think it saved too much space though. :p:p

Nice picture of that wheel on the garage floor- that's where it would stay for years the first time I had to remove it to use the trunk if I had this car- ha!

I was saved by one of those spares that I luckily borrowed from another 355 owner. I drove an hour with a 295 on the right and a 15 on the left. Every time you push on the gas, the rear of the car shimmies towards the spare. Got some good looks too... But it got me home!

For some reason the jpeg showing the spare isn't coming up on my computer. When I first got my 348 about 9 yrs ago, my wife ran over a chunk of pvc pipe and ripped a hole in a rear tire. The hole was very large, the inflato crap wouldn't work so had to haul the tire over to a repair shop and eventully replace the tire. So I set out on this search of the "mythical space saver spare" that FNA had never heard of. Talked to about four dealers and nobody had ever seen one let alone had one. Even F of San Fran had never seen one. Even checked into making a space spare from scratch. Started calling every dealer and after about twenty calls: "Sure we got one, want it?". I think it was like $1400, has a nice leather case for the jack. Never had to use it but now I won't have to flat bed the car someplace. Sometimes a wife is a terrible thing.
