What is the OEM spec for spark plug and engine oil for 360 Challenge? And has anyone used other specs to compensate for hot/cold weather?

    Thanks,

Got your email, I think I covered it all apart from tooling.

Sorry, just can't do a list. I've got nearly AUD$100,000 worth of tools/boxes and still keep buying more........

Thanks Phil. Very informative as usual. Never expected Shell lubricants to be so lacking in performance.

On the HANS cross bar for shoulder anchor points, I know what you mean. I had the same problem for the Formula Renault and had to use an adaptor to move the anchor points closer together by 4 inches.

For the 360C, do I have to use a cross bar and weld it to the roll cage? Or can I simply cross over the anchor points so left shoulder belt to right anchor and right shoulder belt to left anchor point? I don't have my car in hand yet, so all I have seen is a picture of the shoulder belt anchor and it appears to be clip-on buckle on belt side and eye-bolt on chassis side. If there are two eye bolts on chassis side wouldn't crossing the anchor points accomplish moving the shoulder belts close together to wrap over the yoke of the HANS? Or altenatively, couldn't I fabricate a steel adpator plate where by it is screwed down to the chassis via where OEM eye-bolts are, then have new eye bolt located closer on the adaptor plate? Or am I misunderstanding something?

What you said about being 100% prepared and only 50% chance of being able to fix what's wrong is exactly my assessment of the situation. Difficult to know when to stop buying spares. That is until the money runs out, then I'll have to stop.

    Regards,

    Wayne

The belt anchorages are too far apart to cross over. The Hans device comes with a fitting instruction kit, and the anchorages are way outside their tolerance. You either need a bar (which adds to car stiffness), or maybe a fabricated bracket, but I use Sabelts with clip on shoulder straps as std and bar mount the Hans straps...on the new bar.

The best spares kit to carry is a whole spare car. It takes less room than the dismantled spares you MAY need!!??

Yeah, I've gone right off Shell lubricants. I've found several problems which have been fixed with a change to Castrol. And when the Shell tech rep tries to tell you that the 5w40 Helix Ultra is the EXACT SAME oil they put in Schueys F1 car..well, nuff said.
