I don't understand why these plug clips are so hard to remove and install??? Some of my clips have broken off, so I got a set of new clips but had a hard time getting the old clips out. I used pliers to pull it out, of course it broke off. So I used a picker to pry the wedged broken parts out, even tried a screw and a drill. Time consuming but doable. After a few hours, I was able to install the new clips, but could not get the middle plastic screw in, tried hammer, still wont go in. so, I used my grinder to grind the tip of it a little, then it went in easily with a light hammer. Is there a trick to this because I do not think you should have to grind it to install it? Maybe I should have heat it up first, probably would have made the plastic softer and easier to go in. But I ended up cracking a clip trying to force it in as is so be careful. See pics, but the after pics look great and clean! I had the same exact issues myself. When it was in the shop they just threw new ones in there for me from what they had lying around the shop so for those that do them regularly it must be easy. I still don't know.
Mike, Dave Helms gave me the best tip. He said to use a left drill bit to remove the residue. Worked like a charm. Start small and move to larger size. Also on my T they are threaded therefore you can take the looms from Ricambi remove the plastic plug and simply screw them into the holes. They tighten nicely and I have had no problem. One of the holes is not particularly easy to get to on the T. Regards. Randy
