Getting ready to pull my plugs for a little look-see. I can't find the torque to use to put them back. Also, if you are putting plugs back in that have the little crush zone already crushed, do you use the same torque? Anybody use anti-seize compound? If so, how do you adjust your torque? I've read some people say no allowance, other say the lightest in the torque range, or even less. Thanks!!!!
From NGK's website. Nothing about varying the torque depending on the state of the crush washer. I would go with 18 lbs./ft. http://www.ngksparkplugs.com/techinfo/spark_plugs/installation.asp Image Unavailable, Please Login
might take a look in the copies of the service bulletins that I sent you. There's a torque chart in there for just about everything. And, I sent you another set of those copper doo dads, I think. If not, PEP BOYS is your friend for that item. Might as well gap a new set and put them in. Those might have 3-4,000 miles on them. Dave
Okay, here you go. Straight from the owner's manual, pages 71-72: "Before fitting to the engine, lightly smear the threads with graphite grease. If the washer is new, tighten to 18 ft. lbs., slacken and then re-tighten to 10-14 ft. lbs." Incidentally, on page 71, they spec the gap at 0.16"-0.20", which of course is a typo. They show it correctly (0.016") in the diagram on the following page.
