Removed the spark plugs on front bank on my 208 GT4 and they were all wet with water, really wet! It appears to be under the extension and the rubber sealing. The sealing is ok and the car has been in garage so where does the water come from?? There shouldn´t be any down there. The plugs are new and you can see the chrome is gone, they are all greyish.

    What is happening?

I am going to get blasted ........

Smell or Taste (spit/garggle LOTS afterword as coolent is poison) the H20. Is it H20 or coolent? If it is coolent, you know what you need to do.

Mybet is it is H20 and from condensation. Those caps really don't work well at least NOT on my 308 GTSi. I sufferer alot of condensation in my Garage in Germany too with wifey's car going in and out twice a day especially during the winter and depositng H20/ice/snow EVERYWHERE.

I sweep the garage daily and open the doors on good days to try to keep it as dry as possible inside especially during the wiinter. I am FAIRY successful.

Just more crap to do to save these cars for our enjoyment and for future generations.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. It is sooooome work. :(

TIP: OH! And NEVER remove your plugs without blowing ALOT of air down the wells FIRST to remove ANYTHING that may be down in there.

Well, if the water is above the threadwindings, I'd say you're safe. Coolant can't reach there. When did you last wash your car? Put towels on engine when washing.

    Mick,

Darn good point. H20 from a wash get trapped under the rubber boots and presto! 8 small lakes, UNLESS you really burn it off, it might just cycle into steam and back into water as the car is driven. Especially if it is not driven much.

This happens to me about once a year, and my car will drive like sh#t because of sparks flying everywhere except in the combustion chambers....water and electronics just don't mix well:).
Now, after washing my car, I drive it for at least half an hour (takes care of trapped water anywhere in and on the car) and when I park it, I unplug the sparkplugs to vent the sparkplugwells. Just to be sure.

Stop washing the car if you don't want water there.

When I wash my car, I drape a plastic sheet over the engine for just this reason.

Dried everything. Blown with compressed air and will go from there. Than you! Seems like a classical F problem. These sealings must really be bad...
