There are certainly many nice folks I have met through FChat and this past weekend I had an opportunity to meet with Sparky-P51 and to see his amazing airplane.

Sparky is a great person with a fascinating history, and if any of you have aviation interest you definitely want to meet him and to see his fabulous P-51. It's the best one I have seen, and that numbers a few.

    Have posted a few pictures.

Sparky's the "old" guy on the right!

Thanks for the piece of history, Sparky.

No but he is very "tender" in his care of it!!!

It is regularly flown and is sponsored by Jelly Belly.

First thing he offered me after he opened his hangar!

His son is a corp Citation 10 pilot who flies the P-51 regularly.

Great person and a must-see airplane.

It was flown in the Tuskeegee Airmen movie and Lawrence Fishburn was it's movie "pilot".

No he's not. He won't let me fly it.

Good thing it was that one. Some of the others got shot down.

Nice pix Greg. Looks like you just ate something hot and in the company of a really ugly guy with nice hair. Brian Crall can come fly the 51 anytime he wishes just so long as I get to drive his TR to Hawaii & back. Battery tenders, boy do we got battery tenders. Nice visiting with you and your wife Calo. You guys and Brian are welcome anytime.

    Sparky, where's it hangered?

Brian, you dummy. You can't fly airplanes. There's no cocktail glass holders in the cockpits.

    I have 360/430 cup holders.

    Will those do?

I don't think it's a case of Brian not knowing how to fly it.

I just think we'd have trouble squeezing him into the cockpit!!!

24 hours from bottle to throttle....sheesh. What do they think we are anyway?

I drink out of a glass so it's no problem.

Greg Boyington just sprinkled tobacco in his eyes so he wouldn't nod off while flying.

So boring he decided to step out of his and go for a swim later to be picked up by a sub with a big red sunburst painted on the Con.

I am sure it was just the Vermouth that made him sleepy.

So is that why they called him Pappy instead of Peppy?

Pappy, Peppy? I thought they called him Puppy....or was it Poopy. Bet if anyone called Greg Boyington Poopy to his face, they would get a left cross.

    Why the tail of course.

What else would be dragging after drinking?
