$130k sounds like a good buy assuming it passes inspections and the stated history is true.

Good looking car.

 

Damn, that's about as many miles as I've put on all cars I've owned combined since 2001. Was probably a daily driver for somebody, that's awesome.

 

Looks like the second owner put all the miles. It went from 3K to 42K in 2 years. So 20K/year.

Interesting to note, at 41K or so, the car failed CA emissions test. Does Diablos have common emissions failure problems?

 

Emission failure here in Cali may not mean as much as other parts of the country. I saw that as well. It passed the very next day after being driven about 20 miles or so. A bad gas cap will cause you to fail emissions here. They also check your timing (10deg retarded) if you're off on that you fail as well. Tail light could have been out... Fail. You get the idea. As I'd said I saw that and immediately thought it failed because of combustion issues... HC and such. But, with a single day turn around I doubt that was the case.

It would be something to bring up with the owner though.

 

Touch the exhaust on a Lambo or do any upgrades and it'll fail. Reverse it so it passes, then put it back to normal.

My company underwrites service contracts on exotics, and we see about 1/2 failed emissions test in CA at one time if they were in that state. Not uncommon and not cause to worry.

Thanks for the info Ben. Having had many modified cars, I thought exhuast/intake/headers were the problem. However, I am not familiar with Lambos, and wanted to make sure someone saw that.
