check this video out!! mms://wmscnn.stream.aol.com/cnn/us/2006/01/18/nat.tx.car.chase.affl.affl.ws.wmv
wow man....what an idiot..feel bad for the car.....glad to see the women didnt get hurt ether or the baby for that matter....but amazing speed the 5series had..... when did this take place anyways???
I'm not saying this was completely preventable but.... ...notice how close the victim's car is to the car in front. Perhaps if she allowed more distance she would have had more time to see the oncoming threat and pull right. All of us with low profile rims and/or low clearance cars do this because a Ford LTD with 70 profile tires might slog through a pothole that causes you $1000 in damage and you can't see it until it's too late. Don't tailgate.
This video is purely disturbing. This ********* wasn't a "speeder" but a negligent prick who should spend some serious time behind bars. He's very lucky that neither the woman or child were seriously injured. He can rot in hell from my standpoint and I can only imagine the rage I would have if he did that to my family.
I second that. They showed that all over the news last night.. FOX, ABC, NBC..etc. Never piss off a mom!
The victim's car is about a car length, maybe less, from the car in front. The perp comes at them, the lead car serves right...and the victim suddenly is faced with an oncoming car at speed. I'm not saying the victim is at fault. It's just that leaving a lot of space in front of you is a good defensive driving practice.
That guy was completely insane. Im glad everyone made it out ok, and I hope the judge didn't allow bail for this guy. btw it was a new 3 series, 330 with sport package
The guy in that helicopter is a real ******* for filming that stuff and putting it on national TV for profit. What a selfish prick.
Guys, this was a high speed chase as in police pursuit. The helicopter had been following it for a while. I'm just amazed that the woman and child weren't killed. I forget why he was running.
Is it me, or is that white pickup that the 3 dances around in the game too? at first I thought the video was a case of road rage where the pickup was antagonizing the 3.
The 3 series was running and someone in the white pickup decided they were gonna try and help the police by trying to slow him down. The guy pretty much screwed himself when he tried going against traffic but thankfully no one was hurt.
BRING BACK STONING. PUBLIC STONING...Should be a Reality show on FOX. Shown Right after America's Most Wanted.
Serves him right . What an *****. But that guy with the Pick up..What was he thinking ? He was more dangerous than the BMW . I know its good intention but he could have done much more damage than the BMW ..
if the pickup was trying to help.... Then I think his butt should be rung out to dry as well. As I recall, should somebody get hurt he's culpable too. I suspect good samartian doesn't apply to high-speed persuit. The pickup may have also given the 3's driver an excuse... "But some wacko in a white pick-up was chasing me and I just wanted to get away from him, your honor"
Well Friday night I was in Fort Lee just coming off Rt 80 towards the Palisades pkwy. To my right, is a bunch of very tight blind bends that feed onto Rt 80. The keyword is on, not off. Just like the video clip & the exit ramp, I see a sedan coming up the ramp at a good clip. All's it was gonig to take is one car in the other directions and a head-on was about to unfold. I could not for the life of me figure out how that car got going in the wrong direction. I don't know the outcome. But I hope they figured their misdirection out toot-sweet!
I understand from my sources (in some of tri-state A/General offices), that they are now looking into the confiscation of the profits from the sales of these types of videos of illegal acts, under (believe it or not) the revised Son of Sam laws. I.E. = you cannot profit from the sales of illegal acts that are filmed. Similar to the videos that some kids made a few years ago of themselves "trashing" a home they broke into. I was told it is NOT a free speech issue in those kinds of situations. Oh well, time will tell.
I'm sure they're "looking into" lots of things ... politicians like to do that when something negative gets attention. The reality is that very little real change every comes from the "looking into", and particularly in this case, even if such a law were passed it'd be nearly impossible to get the video producer in trouble. Snuff films = videos depicting murder, which has a tangible criminal result (dead body somewhere) = class A felony Child porn = videos depicting abuse, which has a tangible criminal result (abused child somewhere) = class A felony Speeding videos = videos depicting traffic violations, which unless there's an accident leaves no tangible criminal result = class C misdemeanor at WORST (and that's for reckless driving, which as we all know is difficult to convict without an accident or other bodily harm). I'll eat my hat the day someone gets in trouble for purely depicting people driving fast. Note: EVERYTHING changes if videos depicting injuries, accidents, etc. start making the rounds. Go make a street racing video showing a crash and bodily harm, and I guarantee a quick trip upstate. nlh
Noahlh I was told they were going after the monies that are made. Snuff/child pornography videos, are not sold on the open market, but most of these videos showing paintballing of innocent people, smashing up property, reckless driving, etc. usually seem to be promoted and sold quite openly; that is just what they are now ready to concentrate on.
If the gov. wants to go after monies made, girls gone wild will have to be first. Rumor has it public nudity is illegal in most places in the US. Those videos show people throwing bottles at cop cars etc, or some of the other special interest videos which show property damage. Even "Real TV with amhad reshad" where clips of anything legal or not are shown on cable for ratings thus pulling in profits. As much as I am made the focus of all this, I am a "famous passenger", I just videotape, I dont do much if any of the driving in my videos. I videotape what goes on, and as you know it goes on wether my camera is rolling or not. I think the whole problem here is that it looks like "someone is making $ off of something I could doing" and for some reason makes people upset.
