Its all about personal preferences but I love CF and would not consider a car that does not have it. To me, not only looks great but also sets the vehicle apart.

I agree with this, love CF as well.
Guess my question is, does it matter if it is factory or aftermarket CF?
To me I’d rather buy a Speciale with just the essential options including some CF and easily can add more CF. MACarbon and Carbonio make excellent quality CF.

To me, it is not that important if it is factory or quality aftermarket. As long as it has the CF or I can put it on, I am happy.
I installed an interior piece from MaCarbon to my Scud a few years back and loved the result. Replaced a part that was getting a bit sticky win a CF piece. Great upgrade!

Definitely what only matters is what you like with your own car. Ferrari options, especially CF, are crazy priced and there are better aftermarket sources. However, since this is the Speciale Market thread and folks are assuming there is some level of collectability then OEM and MSRP would traditionally be more of a concern IMO.

How often do I see the cf engine bay? Every chance I get - at car shows, when I am cooling the engine, when I want to put a smile on my face because I did by this Speciale spec for me. And I can see the cf through the back lid easily. You should look at the engine bay more often...it is a thing of beauty especially if it is not covered in black plastic.

With all due respect have to disagree with you on the engine bay. I look at my CF engine bay all the time. I think it’s one of the most unique viewing points of the Speciale with the rest of the CF engine covers.

I traded in my speciale to McLaren Houston after I was denied an extended warranty claim. I paid for the repair for a leaking gearbox. Just giving you guys a heads up if anyone is interested in the car.

They said the seals failed and that’s not included in the new power warranty.

I have no idea. My car had 4500 miles when the dealer took a look at it. I was just disappointed it wasn't covered by the new power warranty.

Wow that is a shame Ferrari is treating their customers that way--not the first time I've heard of warranty claim issues.

Did you pick up a Mac or just sell it outright?

Just saw it listed at Mclaren Houston for $359k ....love the interior and seats. Since it all got fixed, looks like a fine specimen!

Nice! An SA at a good price and an incoming Pista spider. What a combination especially next to each other. Definitely 2 keepers. Please post some pics of the SA when you get it.

Something I've wondered about a few times: in the Speciale, does turning the setting from race down to sport quite the exhaust like in the Italia? Or does the Speciale always have a more wide open exhaust, regardless of which mode you are in?

There is a significant and immediate difference when in low revs (starting around 3k). In higher revs or heavy acceleration, probably is the same (never tried that particular experiment).
I switch from race to sport frequently when I enter my sub-division (20 mph limit) or when I drive in the freeway with my wife and the difference in the exhaust is very noticeable.
