Its odd how much lower the European market prices these cars. Admittedly most of them have much higher mileage, but even ones with very low readings on the odometer go for significantly less than in the US. The opposite is true for Pistas which are still more expensive than Speciales in Europe, but are basically on par now in the US.

For instance, from a Ferrari dealer:

Interesting, I drove them back to back in the canyons and I would go for the NA motor… that’s just me.

No doubt in MY MIND, been around the block a few times, that, as time goes by....say 10 years..... or longer if you prefer....there is NO QUESTION that the Speciale and the SpecialeA will be head and shoulders above any turbo car. Its not even close.

There's an instantaneous and more direct connection to engine in NA Speciale that's ever so slightly missing in Turbo Pista. With Speciale, you communicate crisply/directly with the engine. With Pista, you telegraph to the engine via the turbo. When delicately modulating throttle through S curves on mountain roads, I notice and appreciate it.

It's been like that since day one with Speciales. But became even more so after the Fed injected $5T+ into the economy, versus the ECB's more modest injections.

The performance is not close, be real. You can still love the Speciale but the driving excitement is not even close.

Speciale 597HP no parasitic loss from a turbo, 9000 RPM, top speed 200, 514 rear end, 0-60 2.8 seconds, 1/4 mile mid 10's. SLOW?....that is more than anybody can use on the street. I will smile with that all day long especially knowing that I don't have to worry about turbo's burning out

by no means its slow.comparing how it drives to a pista will feel slow afterwards.there both amazing vehicles and the last of its breed.if i was given the choice a 458 speciale and a pista and throw the investment thinking of a speciale i would choose the pista same money and will bring a bigger smile to my face when drivng and the looks of the pista imo is the bestmodern ferrari made

  21. The problem is no one buys a Speciale to drive.

They buy them to bubble wrap and then put them on Bring a Trailer.

  24. That's the issue.

People who say that the Speciale drives like it fell from God's testicles must own those unicorn Speciale's with broken odometers.

Because anyone who buys a Speciale and actually drives it regularly is either stupid or enjoys doing this on their spare time ...
