It just depends what you’re looking for. If speed is the quest, it’s not the car for you in the current climate of supercars. If engagement and visceral experience is, it just may be! I have faster cars, but I’m not sure I’d ever trade the Speciale for them.

This is what always bites me about the 458. I miss the involvement. When the 765 showed up it provided all the involvement plus the ludicrous speed. Best car ever. But a speciale has something special about it. Aptly named.

I feel you, and I’m relatively new to the Speciale.

There are ALWAYS faster cars.....I say who cares......I sure don't. Growing up a s kid there was always the car that would beat yours.....again SO WHAT. We were happy as hell running 13's. Today, 600HP in naturally aspirated form with a 9000 redine is all ANYBODY needs on the street. Hell pro stock drivers weren't even enjoying this for a long time. After that its all weak talk....and with that, keep the bug eyed 765 somewhere else like on the bugeye forum cause it don't belong here.

As I tell my driving buddies, there will always be a prettier, taller, thinner, younger woman with a bigger cup size.

But when you really connect with someone, you just know.

Ive seen your posts sporadically throughout Fchat and you must have the tiniest p*&^% ever, you seem to go after anyone who implicates that there might subjectively be a comparable car one might prefer.. which comes across to me as severely insecure and overcompensating. And I say this as a 2x Speciale owner

For what it's worth this guy doesn't speak for everyone in the Speciale world, lots of amazing beautiful cars & Ferraris to choose from

My Strads wore me out too, not just the Scuds - after 1/2 hour shredding the Mountains in Malibu, it was time to soft pedal. But now I live in the Rockies, and rarely drive more than 1/2 hour unless I'm Way Back In on the dirt in the the 392 AEV, so primal scream is my highway desire again. Some of my fondest non-Porsche memories are redline shifts up Stunt Road, down Scheuren and Rambla to home, in either a Strad or a Scud wailing away. But yes, only for 1/2 an hour.

So when I revisit my Pista, a rocketship but I only kept it 2 years... - the bonnet, the mouth and side scoops design really bothered me, the disconnect from the road bothered me, but Lordy is it fast. So the design of the Speciale is already selling me [I only wish F had kept those sexy, thin carbon mirror stalks from the Strad going forward], the question is how far from the screaming vitality of the Strad or the Scud is it? 9k helps...

So I ask you with Strad, Scud, Speciale experience -- maybe I should try a Speciale, the last V8 NA.
    All commentary greatly appreciated. Cheers.

I have not owned a Strad, test drove one long ago…but have had a 16M for 7 years, along with a Speciale, and since then I’m on my 3rd Speciale. It is that good.
As far as screaming vitality of the Speciale, I have full system IPE headers back on it, and it is perfect F1 symphony. I had S line exhaust on my 16M and it also sounded great.
    Speciale FTW

    Haha, thanks plastique999!!!

I see you do biz with Merit Partners - I've bought n sold for years w Jon, although this car is coming from Lauderdale. Please describe how much your Speciale headers changed it from stock? Clearly the stock exhaust didn't do it for you....

OH!! I thought I was the only one who really disliked those exact areas, especially the way the S duct was designed. Glad I’m not completely alone in my “obsessive insanity” haha!

Yessss, Merit is the BEST in the business… Burt and Jonathan exemplify INTEGRITY and they are like brothers to me. I bought my first Speciale from Burt and I’ve done several deals with them including a couple CGT’s, TDF, etc… their reputation is nothing short of stellar!

When I bought my second Speciale with stock exhaust, I hated it lol. The exhaust needs to be opened up. I truly love my full system headers back. It’s perfect. It’s a must IMO. But I am not the norm, I have several cars fully decat’d [emoji2]
