The "personnalization specification" plate listing the colors and selected optional equipment now comes with all new Ferrari, apparently.

Had the idea that the factory charged lots of money for these plates in the beginning ,,,

There is a "Silver Dedication Plate" option; option code DEDI (not DED1); MSRP $759 USD. I understand it's basically the same as the plate in the trunk but fixed to the driver's door jam ..... or ..... it's the plate in the trunk now provided at no additional charge.

I don't think so, the "DEDI" plate is a small personnalized silver plate in the cockpit, on which you select the text you want; it has nothing to do with the personnalization plate in the trunk, which lists the options and has been standard from the introduction of the 488 GTB.

You could ask, although, these plaques are installed at the factory not by the dealer, so I’m not sure if they can ask the factory to produce one for your car. These plaques are a fairly new feature (I believe they were introduced with the 488).

Thank you for the clarification. It's been a bit of a nebulous issue.

Did Any 458s come with this spec plate, or did it only begin on the 488?

For sure this plate has been standard from the very first 488, so it might have been provided with the latest 458 spider and Speciale, but I have no confirmation for that. Maybe a 458 owner could step in and tell.

I've never seen a 458 with this plate. F12TdF does come with this plate, unsure about the California T. The fact I've never seen one doesn't mean it doesn't exist, but I think this is a new feature which started with the 488 in late 2015, and is now present in the GTC4Lusso, 812 Superfast and Portofino.

I think it's a nice feature, but I'm overall indifferent to it. Several owners upon getting the car and enjoying the first couple hundred of miles, decide to add something to the car for instance, thus rendering the plate virtually useless, as it no longer reflects accurately the options the car has installed.

    Kind regards,

    Nuno.

Where the plate will really be useful will be in future years for those who want to know precisely how the car came from the factory, assuming the plate is correct. Even the window stickers omit important spec details. I also believe the overall Ferrari vision as it relates to Classiche has an influence on this as well.

Exactly. It's valuable to know how the car was originally spec'd.

But it's also valuable as a single place to see how the car is spec'd currently, even if not perfect. 90% of the items on this list are unlikely to be modified or could be easily verified.

Ill post my DEDI plate tomorrow. You can have anything written on it. It resides between both seats on the wall behind the seat ( firewall ) The plate in the frunk with 2 lights for the frunk started with the 488 GTB time. Looks cool and has everything what your car came with. It was no cost

It would be really cool if you could order these plates after the fact. Is that at all possible to order the plates for an existing car without one?

This plate has been standard on new cars since at least the 488 (Q3 2015); for older cars, I doubt it would be possible to get one. However the "MyFerrari" site lists all options when you declare an owned car, also for an old car.
