Have you ever had to drive across some nasty city roads and come across one of those dips that threaten to scrape the nose off of your car? What do you guys do to deal with these situations?

My Elise suprisingly clears most obstacles but i've literally stopped traffic in a parking lot and made people back up so I can avoid a speed bump that I hadn't seen that I know would have damaged my car. If it comes down to stopping traffic and making people move or spending $5000 fixing my car because it didn't clear a bump, i'll take inconveniencing a few people for a minute or so. I generally keep track of where the bad roads and speed bumps in town are and just avoid them.

In my 328 I pretty much drive the same routes every time - I'm semi-urban, and unless
I want to take a 3 hour drive, I'm stuck in the crowded 'burbs and city. So I've pretty
much memorized all the hazards and roads to avoid.

And if anyone in Tacoma, WA wants to know, there are exactly 4 speed bumps in Point
Defiance Park 'Five Mile Drive' and that last one is a bugger!
