Turned off! That's just "legislation creep". Soon it will be permenant. This is just like the anti gun agenda in america. Soon you have legislation against saturday night specials, hi cap magazines, and ar15.

how will the government collect revenue then if no speeding tickets will be issued? All those money printing speed cameras... Correction "Speed Safety Cameras" will be obsolete. And those poor mobile speed camera cameras contractors will have no job. Imagine these mobile speed guys had a union.
Union delegate conversation: People must be able to speed otherwise these guys wont have any money to pay there Bills or support their families.

I suppose the government then can stop promoting the speed camera in safety campaigns

Govs are looking at ways like the introduction payment per kilometer to regain the lost fuel excise from the electric cars, lets call it the TESLA tax.

they have talking about that for some time but not enough EV's for that to happen. They will need to abolish registration fees for that to happen as well like they already do once you spend a certain amount each year on tolls

Rego is too much of a cash cow like the LCT, they will never abandon that either.

Yes. And don't you want that choice?
Don't you believe that the more they make things fool proof the more they just make a better fool?

    Yes and no.

I don't mind having protection against the lowest common denominator.

AND....there's no reason to speed, is there?

And there is reason to give up your freedom without a fight? We are under assault by those who want to control us because they know what is best for you. Are you a free thinker? Are you a free person? Freedom is under attack. We are like frogs in water slowly coming to a boil.

We already gave up our freedom when we agreed to need a driver's licence to drive and obey the road rules or get booked. So, what freedom am I giving up exactly? If you're talking about the freedom to get booked, then I don't mind it.

If you're talking about the freedom to do 200kph in a 60kph zone, that's a freedom I'd like no one to have.
