I just ordered this to see how it is, and I must say, this is great. The sound of the cars really comes through, unlike on TV. It sounds like I'm at the track.

The best part of this is, there are no commercials. When the TV feed cuts away, you still have coverage on the comp. I wish there was a way to buy this for the whole season because it would be well worth it. I cannot wait for the race with this coverage; 5 in-car cameras, 1 on-track camera, and 18 driver to team radio channels to choose from, this is going to be the best coverage of any race I've watched.

Has anyone else ordered "onboard," and how do you guys feel about it?

I ordered it too. It seems cool so far. Im a bit dissapointed that I can't use it now during P3 because they are delaying the telecast. I went to the page as the session was starting on TV and just caught some of the cars pulling into the pits.

One thing I wish they did would be to tell you who is being displayed on each camera instead of just camera 1, 2 etc. I haven't noticed the radio channels. But Ill definitely check it out.

Last year at the track I was able to try the Kangaroo TV system as they trialed it. It was cool and a similar system. You could watch any of the onboard feeds and even select your "favorite" driver. If he came out on track and his onboard was available it would switch to it immediately. This year the system is supposed to be available at the track for rental.

I was supposed to go again this year with my mom and girlfriend, but my mom had a stroke in April so we had put the trip aside. The onboard pass makes it a little more bareable missing the race. :)
