Speed commentaters spending a lot of time trashing mosley. Call his position "untenable". They said the King(?) of bahrain wrote mosley and said he wasn't welcome. The man has got to go. Speed owned by newscorp.

Slow news day for the American commentators. Why don't they talk about how the Champ Car guys are going to do better at St. Pete, or something!

Because it was durring F1 practice.

Now Mosley is blaming McLaren for the whole thing. See story:
    http://www.planetf1.com/story/0,18954,3213_3383346,00.html

As if this 'episode' wasn't already damaging enough for F1, Max Mosley has reportedly blamed McLaren-Mercedes for a recent tabloid article relating to his alleged extra-curricular experiences, saying the team set him up.

Mosley has a tension-fraught history with the McLaren team, having slapped them with a £50million fine for last year's Stepneygate scandal in what some felt was his own personal vendetta against team boss Ron Dennis.

'Mosley has confided to friends he believes he may have been the victim of a plot by McLaren-Mercedes, who were fined £50million last year for 'spying' on Ferrari, to destroy his career,' reports the Daily Mail.

The newspaper went on to say that Mosley is determined to prove that he was set-up, which is why he has called an Extraordinary Meeting of the FIA.

However, it's not just Mosley who (allegedly) reckons he was set-up.

Bernie Ecclestone's immediate reaction after hearing the news was to say: "I find it difficult to believe. It's his business but it sounds to me like a set-up."

More telling is that BMW team boss Mario Theissen, who after five days to thinking about it, said on Friday that it did appear as if was entrapment.

"What shouldn't be neglected is it certainly looks like a trap," he said. "And that is something which in our view is not acceptable."

My favorite part of the telecast was Jackie Stewart putting in his 2 cents about Mad Max, He always likes to get a kick in when ever anyone is down.

Well, Max and JYS have their own history...

Remember, it was Max that suggested JYS was a "certified half-wit." :)

So Ron slipped him a mickey, dressed him up in fishnet stockings and had the hookers stand around him and took pics in various poses ? Methinks not.
Max had a choice and made the wrong one.

Smells like another $100 million fine for Mclaren in any case. Best to be sure.

Entrapment or not Mosley still did what he did and should resign immediately.

Remember the hullabaloo raised by the FIA when racist anti-Hamilton posters were there during a McLaren pre-season practice session in Spain. All that talk and now the organization shuts up when its own fascist Nazi loving boss does his thing.

Yes, it is all McLaren's fault. They stole a 780 page dossier from Max on how to effectively test, run, race, and film a nazi prostitution orgy. McLaren should lose all constructors points for this.

Maybe it got commented on before, but after the 700 odd posts on this I kind of lost track -

Was this an ILLEGAL act (i.e. Prostitution), or can "money for sex" either not be proven, or perhaps be legal where this happened?

I bring it up because this seemed to make up a large aspect of the N.Y. governor's case.

It did get commented on and the UK contingent corrected us puritans by saying what Max did was NOT illegal in the UK.

I think what Spitzer did WAS illegal AND he transported said subject across state lines to "do it." But alas, he looks like he'll get off scot-free, too... :(

The real issue with that was the hypocrisy of it. Spitzer was in charge of prosecuting prostitution in NY and did so aggressively. For him to then be using one was just too much.

In this case for Max to have supposedly put his past as a fascist to rest, turned over a new leaf, and then to be engaging in this behavior is the real issue. For Spitzer it was what he was doing. For Max it wasn't what he was doing it was how he was doing it.

Being a Nazi isn't technically illegal in a free nation, you can choose to do what you want.

Its just the moral and ethical values are trashed for the president of a worldwide organization/governing body.

Is it illegal to say the words "I hate Jews?" No. but it brings your morals into question, and many people won't like you to have a powerful position. Same thing here.

I think he was referring to the hookers not being illegal. Which, if true, means that I'm moving to Toronto or London :D

If you want to bring someone of power down trap him and link him to "Nazi" whatever. If he had of been secretly filmed participating in a gay, "Village People" get-up orgy, this would not have even seen the light of day.

Right, so entrapment... Im not lawyer, but as I understand entrapment, it relies on the fact that an officer (I guess the paper in this case) causes someone to commit a crime they otherwise would not have committed.

As I see it, it doesn't really matter if he was entrapped or not. If a newspaper tried to entrap me by offering 5 prostitutes that I could command as if I was a Nazi officer, I wouldn't bite; and that is because IM NOT A RACIST NAZI! The point isn't that he screwed some prostitutes, its that he is a racist in an international position where his racist views could very easily affect his ability to fairly and justly rule. The cat is out of the bag. It doesn't matter if he was entrapped or not; we all know he is a racist now and thats not acceptable.
