... or maddening lack thereof. Anybody else's signal go to hell and back? Or do you get a clear, uninterrupted broadcast? I'm on Adelphia Cable (Digital) - they say it's SpeedChannel.
The only problem i had was durring the post race interviews Jarno T was blacked out for a few but i think it was a problem with the world feend on that one. DirectTV here also.
Keep 'em coming - want anyone to have their ammunition (facts) available when dealing with buck-passers such as adelphia. In my case, transmission quality is really bad. Choppy, more down than up.
I'm on DirecTV in SF Bay Area and the last few weeks I've had frequent drop-outs on both audio and video lasting up to a few seconds. NO other channels seem to have the same problem. Gary
11 laps to go at Monaco and *aaaaargggh* pic went kablooey - anybody else's picture go to pot? Botttom line is, I'd like to be certain of "who" to write to when suggesting they spend an extra 3 dollars (sarcasm)...
Wax, If you want you are more than welcome to watch the next race at my place.. Just remember to bring the steaks, women, and booze Beast
Had some sound drops during the race and post-race interview, but no major pix issues. (DirecTV - New England). I did lose signal for a couple of minutes during last night's qualifying replay -- when a big t-storm strolled through. But I had dozed off, anyway, and the lack of engine sounds woke me up.
It was fine on Comcast in Atlanta, except for the few sound dropoffs that were on the world feed. I think the problem is probably with your cable company...........
Good on Cox Cable in southern Virginia - just the usual short Bernie farts on the world feed. Would guess it may be your cable provider.
DishNetwork in North Tejas fine. Speed TV is dependent on the local broadcasting at each race site. There were a few times the sounds and/or pic went out. The announcers will always mention that though if it's the source problem.
Thanks Gents - it's obvious that in addition to "normal" glitches (which don't bother me), there's drops on the part of Cable Provider. It is infuriating to have the action-packed screen turn into a 1/2 hour of black screen with an occasional fraction of the screen actually showing a blip-of-a-second of action... each F1 race. Kill Kill Kill...
I get it from DirecTV and virtually never have a problem. The only problmes I've seen are drops of the feed, and the commentators will always mention "sorry about that" and explain it as being technical problems on the transmitting end. If it drops out and the commentators aren't talking about it, it's just you. I get a perfect signal, so I'd kick some ass at your cableco.
From what I understand speed channel, itv and the rest of the race broadcasters get the live race feed from FOM . Bernie needs to upgrade his gear. . I'd really like to see F1 broadcast in HDTV. I saw a CART race broadcast last year from Road America( i think) it looked really nice. I've seen footage of F1 in in uncompressed NTSC and PAL and of course it beats the ****ty 1.92 mbit mpeg2 digital cable or 4 mbit mpeg2 sat dish signals. 19.2 mbit mpeg2 HDTV is really nice. I cant wait til the FCC forces all broadcasters to bcast at least 480p
