Searched the archives and I think my issue is the sender, but wanted a second opinion because my issue is different than others seen in my search. At idle my speedo ('92 348 TB SS by the way) rests exactly at 5mph - it doesn't jump or do anything crazy like that, it just rests at 5mph. When the car starts to move the speedo needle moves as it should.............just 5mph ahead.

Am I right; is it the sender?

    Thanks

Whew, thought this was a swimsuit problem.

More seriously, is there a little black pin in the speedometer that keeps it from ever settling at zero? I know the 328 has one.

Haven't revisited the car since the weekend and the light wasn't the greatest when I forst noticed it, but I will surely look for the pin. If there is a pin that the needle rests on, though, shouldn't there be some "lag time" before the needle starts moving as the vehicle starts in motion - surely the car isn't moving 5mph creeping out of 1st gear as I let the clutch out?

Don't over analyze it, it's a Ferrari after all. ;) Sounds normal to me.

As long as he doesn't ask about rusty brake rotors after washing the car, everything should be fine. ;)

My 355 doesn't even register until 12 MPH, which is where the black pin sits on my 95. Just another indication from the factory that these cars were meant to be driven fast!!!
