I'm seeing a foggy haze forming on the inside of my speedometer lens, i'm afraid it may be coming from a heater hose leak but i don't know why it'd be just that one lens. Has anyone else seen this?

My car is stored outside...I see them fog and clear due to temps and moisture, always clears after a length of running the car....

My clock is having the same issue. All the other seem fine.

I rebuilt all of my gages and scrubbed the glass perfectly clean. They all sparkle with newness, but all fog as temps change on the inside. I think there's a coating on the inside that needs to be there. I was going to research what it is. Maybe contact Stewart Warner or the likes to inquire.

My lenses NEVER fog anymore, what I did was remove the glass and drill several 1/16 inch holes top and bottom of the gauges in a circular pattern and covered the circular hole pattern with a tight nylon mesh to filter dirt out... this allows the gauge to breathe, the fogging in the glass is due to the lightbulbs which heat the moisture and cause fogging and condensation... I believe there is a thread about using LED's instead of the small incandescent lightbulbs (they do heat up quite a bit).

I also wipe the inside glass with an anti-fog/anti static wipes as I do for all the clocks I restore.
