Has anyone found a way to lubricate the speedometer angle drive? These have become quite pricey and would like to keep mine in good shape.

The speedo drive broke on my car because the grease had turned to something resembling bees wax, so your foresight is commendable. I was horrified at the rip off prices suppliers wanted for these, I did eventually find somebody who made these for around £80 GBP.

In the end I sent it to Speedy Cables in the UK who made a new drive pin and refurbished the whole thing for 40GBP. Bargain.

To lubricate you need to pop off the top sealing ring and degrease the bevel gears, repack with new lithium grease and refit. Tricky bit is removing / refitting the top ring which is a press fit.
