Have some good news... for me anyway. After all the hoo haa about my UK delivered car and in particular the Odometer/Speedometer being kms or miles I downloaded an app called 'Speedometer 55 Start' on my iphone and went for a drive. It tracks speed kms etc, Im sure you all familiar with these apps. Took a nice drive up the freeway and noted the Speedometer is spot on for the km/hr. Apps very good actually and very sensitive with fast readback while driving. Got home and checked the odometer reading.
Much to my surprise the iphone read 31.46km and my odometer read 32 ?!? So IT IS reading kms on the odometer of a UK import car. Now some maybe determined to dispute that. I won't say any names here but I had the top down and I must admitt it was quite fresh as if the aircon was on.
Im honestly not that surprised as I also have the temp in DegC not Fahrenheit and the pressure guauge is bar not psi.
My car had compliance done in March 2011 by GT Compliance. As fate would have it they went into liquidation late last year so I have no way of confirming what they did.
I will repeat the exercise just to be sure but Im convinced its had a full conversion on my dash gauges not just a facia change..!
Perhaps others with UK import 360s should do the dame test its easy and would be intetesting to see if there are others that have also been fully converted.

Sorry didn't see the original thread but the speedometer being in KM vs Miles is surely just a firmware reflash away of the dashboard clocks??

Facia's require changing of the plastic behind the clear plastic and can also be purchased inexpensively too. What was the issue your facing?

Yes you would think so but there is a huge following of people who will claim that the odometer change is not part of the legal compliance requirements only the facia change to km/hr. Apparently to change the odometer requires significant investment in software that can do the change. Theres allot of threads on this controversial subject hence my surprise when my trip computer read kms on my test trip. I am assuming of course that if the trip meter is reading kms that the Odometer itself must be in kms as well...[emoji6]

Tools to reflash are not expensive if you know what your doing... If its really that much of a problem I will look into it and do a DIY guide to swap between km/mph.. I'm sure a cheap tool less than $100 usd could do it you just need to do it manually and have a backup of the original firmware's...

Andrew, when I bought my car (also a UK import) that was one of the things I checked for and used a similar GPS app as you did. I had the previous owner drive and reset the trip meter and mark the start of a 0km reading on the odometer and drove 5km and confirmed it was in fact in KM.
My service book also shows a gap between the last service in the UK and the first in Australia - likely due to the change in measurement. So it can definitely be done.

Based on my own personal experience with Trev and reprogramming ECU's, if anyone can find an easy way to do this, it would be him!

You would think they would give you some sort of more formal document confirming such a major change had been done. Especially to such cars as these where stuff like this has a big impact on cars history and price.
