I can't understand, how in one of the most exciting seasons in a while,
there was a) no worthwile season recap
    b) no interview with the new world champion
    c) " " " Vettle or Glock
    d) and as far as I know, besides the debrief this week,
    an end of season show.
Then you wonder why this sport does'nt catch on here.

SpeedTV only has control over gripe A. Everything else is just the world feed and they have to take what they can get. If I had to make a guess, there was no season recap because they ran out of time...the race did start ten minutes late. Every season so far, they have had a recap. It would follow that they had one this year, but for some reason couldn't play it....ie no time left in their slot.

Yeah, I agree. I couldn't believe that was it, nothing at all about the Championship after the interviews.
I guess if it doesn't go around in circles, it doesn't get much attention in the US.

I'm going to have to find it on torrents. I'm sure the UK tv covered it.

ITV does not cover it well at all. Last night was the re-run were a few extra after race interviews were shown. Very poor show for the so called largest spectator sport in the world......allegedly.

I haven't checked--does SpeedTV have a Year in Review show planned in the next week or so? I'd expect that instead of something on the fly immediately after the race. Especially with the title going down to the wire.

I thought that too. Are you UK based tactical? Things should be better with the BBC, no adverts for a start!

Oh yes and yes mate. I remember well when the BBC had the F1 coverage. Granted it was not as thorough as the ITV but like you said no bloody adverts:( If it was not for the adverts then ITV would be fantastic. Can you imagine them putting adverts in a football game!!! The country would shut down:D
But i think that the BBC will do as good a job as the ITV because this is 14 years on now and the media technology has come on in leaps and bounds and will equil ITVs. I just thank my lucky stars that Bernie has not sold the rights to Sky:( now that would be a very very bad day.

Why can't SPEED schedule thier own interviews without going thru the world feed?

I'm sure Bernie has something to do with it.

I new there would be no interview with Hamilton after the race but at the same time, I thought: what a wasted opportunty for F-1. It just goes to show that the entire events are way to rigid and "stuck in the mud". They do the same old 3 person interview, all crying that they didn't have a better season while the guy who won is actually sitting outside. It's silly but it's politics and policies like this that shows just how inflexible the entire organizations are that are involved in F-1. It's like watching a team win the world series and then having no interviews with the winning team. Just stupid -- especially for the fans of that team.

You mean to tell me that no one could have thought of the possibility that Hamilton would win the championship from 4th place or worse and come up with some kind of contigency plan for it? Of course they did. They just can't come to an agreement on how to deal with it. After all, they ONLY had TWO WEEKS to get their act together before the final race.

So, if you want know in a nutshell what is wrong with F-1, all you have to do is look at the final interview of the top three winners of Brazil and nothing for McLaren, Mercedes, or Hamilton. It kind of makes you wonder why sponsors even bother anymore supporting top teams because

    1) If they are in a comfortable lead, quite often the other cars are mentioned more often.
    2) If they win the championship but aren't in the top 3 finalists of the last race, there's no "ad benefit".
    3) The host country shows their driver more than the lead driver, even if he's running in last place.

BTW. I've seen the ITV broadcasts and I have to say our Speed announcers do a much better job. They are more honest about what's going on, more interested and excited in the actual race, and seem to really enjoy what they are seeing and doing. We may not have a team or a driver or even a event anymore, but we have the best announcers.

Unfortunately F-1 management needs an enema.

Geez, Speed does the commentary and color to F1's feed. They do a decent job with what they have, but sometimes they are truly inane. Also they tend to interrupt each other overly much and leave thoughts dangling. Try putting their comments on SAP and you'd go nuts trying to follow what they are saying!

Whatever happened to the Sunday afternoon/evening replays? Live is great, but a normal time replay on Sunday was perfect for us way out west. Wed morning repeat does no good if you don't have Speed (or a TV) at work.

The best thing I did was get Dish network(or any satellite provider)
with the DVR so that if you do record it, you forward through all the commercials.
Now if they'd only brodcast in HD. I know the TV cameras at the races are HD,
from what I used to se at Indy.
